Revised Common Lectionary (Complementary)
The Majesty of the Lord.
93 (A)The Lord [a]reigns, He is (B)clothed with majesty;
The Lord has (C)clothed and encircled Himself with strength.
Indeed, the (D)world is firmly established; it will not be moved.
2 Your (E)throne is established from of old;
You (F)are from eternity.
3 The (G)floods have lifted up, Lord,
The floods have lifted up their voice,
The floods lift up their pounding waves.
4 More than the sounds of many waters,
Than the mighty breakers of the sea,
The Lord (H)on high is mighty.
5 Your (I)testimonies are fully confirmed;
(J)Holiness is pleasing to Your house,
Lord, [b]forevermore.
Judgment of Sidon
20 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 21 “Son of man, (A)set your face toward (B)Sidon, prophesy against her 22 and say, ‘This is what the Lord God says:
“Behold, I am against you, Sidon,
And I will appear in My glory in your midst.
Then they will know that I am the Lord, when I (C)execute judgments against her,
And I will reveal Myself as holy in her.
23 For (D)I will send a plague to her
And blood to her streets,
And the (E)wounded will [a]fall in her midst
By the sword upon her on every side;
Then they will know that I am the Lord.
24 And there will no longer be for the house of Israel a (F)painful thorn or a hurtful thorn bush from any surrounding them who despised them; then they will know that I am the Lord God.”
Israel Regathered
25 ‘This is what the Lord God says: “When I (G)gather the house of Israel from the peoples among whom they are scattered, and show Myself holy among them in the sight of the nations, then they will (H)live on their land which I gave to My servant Jacob. 26 They will (I)live on it securely; and they will (J)build houses, plant vineyards, and live securely when I (K)execute judgments upon all around them who despise them. Then they will know that I am the Lord their God.”’”
The Order of Resurrection
20 But the fact is, Christ (A)has been raised from the dead, the (B)first fruits of those who (C)are asleep. 21 For since (D)by a man death came, by a Man also came the resurrection of the dead. 22 For (E)as in Adam all die, so also in [a]Christ all will be made alive. 23 But each in his own order: Christ (F)the first fruits, after that (G)those who are Christ’s at (H)His coming, 24 then comes the end, when He hands over (I)the kingdom to our (J)God and Father, when He has abolished (K)all rule and all authority and power. 25 For He must reign (L)until He has put all His enemies under His feet. 26 The last enemy that will be (M)abolished is death. 27 For (N)He has put all things in subjection under His feet. But when He says, “(O)All things are put in subjection,” it is clear that [b]this excludes the Father who put all things in subjection to Him. 28 When (P)all things are subjected to Him, then the Son Himself will also be subjected to the One who subjected all things to Him, so that (Q)God may be all in all.
