Revised Common Lectionary (Complementary)
9 2 Wisdom calleth all to her feast. 7 The scorner will not be corrected. 10 The fear of God. 13 The conditions of the harlot.
1 Wisdom hath built her [a]house, and hewn out her [b]seven pillars.
2 She hath killed her victuals, drawn her wine, and [c]prepared her table.
3 She hath sent forth her [d]maidens, and crieth upon the highest places of the city, saying,
4 Who so is [e]simple, let him come hither, and to him that is destitute of wisdom, she saith,
5 Come, and eat of my [f]meat, and drink of the wine that I have drawn.
6 Forsake your way, ye foolish, and ye shall live: and walk in the way of understanding.
9 Fear the Lord ye his Saints: for nothing wanteth to them that fear him.
10 The [a]lions do lack and suffer hunger, but they which seek the Lord, shall [b]want nothing that is good.
11 Come children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the [c]fear of the Lord.
12 (A)What man is he that desireth life, and loveth long days for to [d]see good?
13 Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips, that they speak no guile.
14 Eschew evil and do good: seek peace and follow after it.
15 [a]Take heed therefore that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as (A)wise,
16 [b]Redeeming the season: for the [c]days are evil.
17 (B)Wherefore, be ye not unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
18 [d]And be not drunk with wine, wherein is [e]excess: but be fulfilled with the Spirit,
19 Speaking unto yourselves in Psalms, and hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord in your [f]hearts,
20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God even the Father, in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
51 [a]I am that [b]living bread, which came down from heaven: if any man [c]eat of this bread, he shall live forever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
52 [d]Then the Jews strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat?
53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have [e]no life in you.
54 Whosoever (A)eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.
55 For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.
56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.
57 As [f]that living Father hath sent me, so live I by the [g]Father, and he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.
58 This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers have eaten Manna, and are dead. He that eateth of this bread, shall live forever.
