¹² Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
    the people whom He has chosen as His inheritance.
¹³ The Lord looks from heaven;
    He sees all the sons of men.
¹⁴ From the place of His habitation He gazes
    on all the inhabitants of the earth;
¹⁵ He fashions their hearts alike;
    He considers all their works.

¹⁶ No king is saved by a great army;
    a mighty man is not delivered by great strength.
¹⁷ A horse is a vain hope for safety;
    it will not deliver by its great strength.
¹⁸ The eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him,
    on those who hope in His lovingkindness,
¹⁹ to deliver their soul from death,
    and to keep them alive in famine.

²⁰ Our soul waits for the Lord;
    He is our help and our shield.
²¹ For our heart will rejoice in Him,
    because we have trusted in His holy name.
²² Let Your lovingkindness, O Lord, be on us,
    just as we hope in You.

⁶ “Your right hand, O Lord,
    is glorious in power.
Your right hand, O Lord,
    shatters the enemy.
⁷ In the greatness of Your excellence,
    You overthrow those who rise up against You.
You send out Your wrath;
    it consumes them like stubble.
⁸ With the blast of Your nostrils
    the waters were gathered together.
The flowing waters stood upright as a heap;
    and the depths were congealed in the heart of the sea.

⁹ “The enemy said,
    ‘I will pursue. I will overtake.
I will divide the spoil;
    my lust shall be satisfied upon them.
I will draw my sword,
    my hand shall destroy them.’
¹⁰ You blew with Your wind,
    and the sea covered them;
they sank like lead
    in the mighty waters.

¹¹ “Who is like You, O Lord, among the gods?
    Who is like You,
        glorious in holiness,
        fearful in praises,
        doing wonders?
