Psalm 33:12-22

12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
    the people whom He has chosen as His inheritance.
13 The Lord looks from heaven;
    He sees all the sons of men.
14 From the place of His habitation He gazes
    on all the inhabitants of the earth;
15 He fashions their hearts alike;
    He considers all their works.

16 No king is saved by a great army;
    a mighty man is not delivered by great strength.
17 A horse is a vain hope for safety;
    it will not deliver by its great strength.
18 The eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him,
    on those who hope in His lovingkindness,
19 to deliver their soul from death,
    and to keep them alive in famine.

20 Our soul waits for the Lord;
    He is our help and our shield.
21 For our heart will rejoice in Him,
    because we have trusted in His holy name.
22 Let Your lovingkindness, O Lord, be on us,
    just as we hope in You.

Genesis 2:4-7

Adam and Eve

This is the account[a] of the heavens and the earth when they were created.

In the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens, no shrub of the field was yet on the earth, and no plant of the field had yet sprouted, for the Lord God had not caused it to rain on the earth, and there was no man to cultivate the ground. But a mist[b] arose from the earth and watered the whole surface of the ground. Then the Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living being.

1 Corinthians 15:42-49

42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. The body is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption. 43 It is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness, it is raised in power. 44 It is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.

There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. 45 So it is written, “The first man Adam was made a living soul.”[a] The last Adam was made a life-giving spirit. 46 However, that which is spiritual is not first, but the natural, and then the spiritual. 47 The first man was of the earth, made of dust; the second man was the Lord from heaven. 48 As was the man of dust, so are those who are of dust; and as is the man of heaven, so are those who are of heaven. 49 As we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the man of heaven.
