Acts 3:12-19

12 When Peter saw it, he answered the people: “Men of Israel, why do you marvel at this man? Or why do you stare at us, as if by our own power or piety we had made him walk? 13 The God of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified His Son Jesus, whom you handed over and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to release Him. 14 You denied the Holy and Righteous One and asked for a murderer to be granted to you, 15 and you killed the Creator of Life, whom God has raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses. 16 And His name, by faith in His name, has made this man strong, whom you see and know. And faith which comes through Him has given him perfect health in your presence.

17 “Now brothers, I know that you acted in ignorance, as did also your rulers. 18 But what God foretold through all the prophets, that His Christ should suffer, He thus fulfilled. 19 Therefore repent and be converted, that your sins may be wiped away, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,

Psalm 4

Psalm 4

For the Music Director. With stringed instruments. A Psalm of David.

Hear me when I call,
    O God of my righteousness!
You have given me relief when I was in distress;
    have mercy on me, and hear my prayer.

O people, how long will you turn my glory into shame?
    How long will you love vanity and seek after lies? Selah
Know that the Lord set apart the faithful for Himself;
    the Lord hears when I call to Him.

Tremble in awe, and do not sin.
    Commune with your own heart on your bed,
    and be still. Selah
Offer sacrifices of righteousness,
    and trust in the Lord.

Many are saying, “Who will show us any good?”
    Lift up the light of Your face over us.
You have placed gladness in my heart
    that is better than when their corn and their new wine abound.

I will both lie down in peace and sleep;
    for You, Lord,
    make me dwell safely and securely.

1 John 3:1-7

Consider how much love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God. Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. Beloved, now are we children of God, and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be. But we know that when He appears, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. Everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.

Whoever practices sin breaks the law, for sin is lawlessness. You know that He was revealed to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. Whoever remains in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has not seen Him and does not know Him.

Little children, let no one deceive you. The one who does righteousness is righteous, just as Christ is righteous.

Luke 24:36-48

The Appearance to the Disciples(A)

36 As they were saying this, Jesus Himself stood among them and said to them, “Peace be unto you.”

37 They were terrified and frightened, and supposed that they saw a spirit. 38 He said to them, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts arise in your hearts? 39 See My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself. Feel Me and see. For a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have.”

40 When He said this, He showed them His hands and His feet. 41 And while they yet disbelieved for joy and wondered, He said to them, “Do you have any food here?” 42 They gave Him a piece of broiled fish and some honeycomb. 43 And He took it and ate it before them.

44 He said to them, “These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and in the Prophets and in the Psalms concerning Me.”

45 Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures. 46 He said to them, “Thus it is written, and accordingly it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, 47 and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48 You are witnesses of these things.
