Psalm 116:1-4

Psalm 116

I love the Lord, because He has heard my voice
    and my supplications.
Because He has inclined His ear to me,
    therefore I will call upon Him as long as I live.

The cords of death encircled me,
    and the pains of Sheol took hold of me;
    I found trouble and sorrow.
Then called I upon the name of the Lord:
    “O Lord, I plead with You, deliver my soul.”

Psalm 116:12-19

12 What shall I render unto the Lord
    for all His benefits toward me?

13 I will take the cup of salvation
    and call upon the name of the Lord.
14 I will pay my vows unto the Lord
    now in the presence of all His people.

15 Precious in the sight of the Lord
    is the death of His godly ones.
16 O Lord, I am Your servant;
    I am Your servant, the son of Your female servant;
    You have loosed my bonds.

17 I will offer to You the sacrifice of thanksgiving
    and will call upon the name of the Lord.
18 I will pay my vows unto the Lord
    now in the presence of all His people,
19 in the courts of the house of the Lord,
    in your midst, O Jerusalem.

Praise the Lord!

Isaiah 25:6-9

In this mountain the Lord of Hosts shall prepare
    for all people a lavish feast,
a feast of aged wines,
    choice pieces full of marrow, and refined, aged wines.
He will destroy in this mountain
    the covering which is over all peoples,
even the veil that is spread over all nations.
    He will swallow up death for all time,
and the Lord God will wipe away tears
    from all faces;
and the reproach of His people He shall take away
    from all the earth,
    for the Lord has spoken it.

It shall be said in that day:

Look, this is our God
    for whom we have waited that He might save us.
This is the Lord for whom we have waited;
    we will be glad and rejoice in His salvation.

Luke 14:12-14

12 Then He said also to the one who invited Him, “When you prepare a dinner or a supper, do not call your friends or your brothers or your kinsmen or your rich neighbors, lest they also invite you in return, and you be repaid. 13 But when you prepare a banquet, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind, 14 and you will be blessed, for they cannot repay you. You shall be repaid at the resurrection of the just.”
