Psalm 24

Psalm 24

The King of Glory

A Davidic psalm.

The earth and everything in it,
the world and its inhabitants,
belong to the Lord;(A)
for He laid its foundation on the seas
and established it on the rivers.(B)

Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord?
Who may stand in His holy place?(C)
The one who has clean hands and a pure heart,(D)
who has not set his mind[a] on what is false,(E)
and who has not sworn deceitfully.
He will receive blessing from the Lord,(F)
and righteousness from the God of his salvation.(G)
Such is the generation of those who seek Him,
who seek the face of the God of Jacob.[b](H)Selah

Lift up your heads, you gates!
Rise up, ancient doors!
Then the King of glory will come in.(I)
Who is this King of glory?
The Lord, strong and mighty,
the Lord, mighty in battle.(J)
Lift up your heads, you gates!
Rise up, ancient doors!
Then the King of glory will come in.
10 Who is He, this King of glory?
The Lord of Hosts,
He is the King of glory.(K)Selah

Isaiah 33:17-22

17 Your eyes will see the King in His beauty;(A)
you will see a vast land.(B)
18 Your mind will meditate on the past terror:
“Where is the accountant?[a]
Where is the tribute collector?[b]
Where is the one who spied out our defenses?”[c]
19 You will no longer see the barbarians,
a people whose speech is difficult to comprehend—
who stammer in a language that is not understood.(C)
20 Look at Zion, the city of our festival times.
Your eyes will see Jerusalem,
a peaceful pasture,(D) a tent that does not wander;
its tent pegs will not be pulled up
nor will any of its cords be loosened.(E)
21 For the majestic One, our Lord, will be there,(F)
a place of rivers and broad streams
where ships that are rowed will not go,
and majestic vessels will not pass.(G)
22 For the Lord is our Judge,
the Lord is our lawgiver,(H)
the Lord is our King.
He will save us.(I)

Revelation 22:8-21

I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. When I heard and saw them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who had shown them to me. But he said to me, “Don’t do that! I am a fellow slave with you, your brothers the prophets, and those who keep the words of this book. Worship God.”(A) 10 He also said to me, “Don’t seal the prophetic words of this book, because the time is near.(B) 11 Let the unrighteous go on in unrighteousness; let the filthy go on being made filthy; let the righteous go on in righteousness; and let the holy go on being made holy.”(C)

12 “Look! I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me(D) to repay each person according to what he has done.(E) 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega,(F) the First and the Last,(G) the Beginning and the End.(H)

14 “Blessed(I) are those who wash their robes,[a] so that they may have the right to the tree of life and may enter the city by the gates. 15 Outside are the dogs, the sorcerers, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices lying.(J)

16 “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to attest these things to you[b] for the churches. I am the Root(K) and the Offspring of David,(L) the Bright Morning Star.”(M)

17 Both the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” Anyone who hears should say, “Come!” And the one who is thirsty should come. Whoever desires should take the living water as a gift.(N)

18 I testify to everyone who hears the prophetic words of this book: If anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book. 19 And if anyone takes away from the words of this prophetic book, God will take away his share of the tree of life and the holy city, written in this book.(O)

20 He who testifies about these things(P) says, “Yes, I am coming quickly.”

Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!(Q)

21 The grace of the Lord Jesus[c] be with all the saints.[d] Amen.[e]
