Version
Psalm 29

A Psalm of David.

¶ Give unto the LORD, O ye mighty, give unto the LORD glory and strength.

Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.

The voice of the LORD is upon the waters: the God of glory thunders: the LORD is upon many waters.

The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is full of majesty.

The voice of the LORD breaks the cedars; yea, the LORD broke the cedars of Lebanon.

And He made them skip like calves; Lebanon and Sirion like the sons of the unicorns.

The voice of the LORD divides the flames of fire.

The voice of the LORD that shall shake the wilderness; the LORD shall shake the wilderness of Kadesh.

The voice of the LORD shall make the hinds to calve and shall uncover the forests: and in his temple every one speaks to his glory.

10 The LORD sits upon the flood; yea, the LORD sat down as King for ever.

11 The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people in peace.

Ezekiel 3:12-21

12 And the Spirit took me up, and I heard behind me a voice of great thunder of the blessed glory of the LORD leaving his place,

13 and the noise of the wings of the living creatures that touched one another, and the noise of the wheels over against them, and a noise of great thunder.

14 And the Spirit lifted me up and took me away, and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; but the hand of the LORD was strong upon me.

15 And I came unto the captives at Telabib, that dwelt by the river of Chebar, and I sat where they sat, and remained there disheartened among them seven days.

16 ¶ And it came to pass at the end of the seven days, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

17 Son of man, I have placed thee as a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth and give them warning from me.

18 When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die and thou dost not give him warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, that he might live, the same wicked man shall die for his iniquity; but his blood I will require at thine hand.

19 Yet if thou warn the wicked and he does not turn from his wickedness nor from his wicked way, he shall die for his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

20 Again, When the righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die because thou hast not given him warning; he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered; but his blood I will require at thy hand.

21 Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man that the righteous not sin and he does not sin, he shall surely live because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul.

Luke 9:18-27

18 ¶ And it came to pass as he was alone praying, his disciples were with him, and he asked them, saying, Who do the people say that I am?

19 They answering said, John the Baptist; but some say, Elijah; and others say that one of the old prophets is risen again.

20 He said unto them, But who do ye say that I am? Peter answering said, The Christ of God.

21 And he straitly charged them and commanded them not to tell anyone this,

22 saying, The Son of man must suffer many things and be rejected of the elders and of the princes of the priests and scribes and be slain and be raised the third day.

23 And he said to them all, If anyone will come after me, let them deny themself and take up their cross {Gr. stauros – stake} daily and follow me.

24 For whosoever desires to save his soul shall lose it, but whosoever will lose his soul for my sake, the same shall save it.

25 For what is a man advantaged if he gains the whole world, having destroyed himself or having suffered the loss of himself?

26 For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed when he shall come in his own glory and in his Father’s and of the holy angels.

27 But I tell you in truth, there are some standing here who shall not taste of death until they see the kingdom of God.
