Revised Common Lectionary (Complementary)
16 Thus says the LORD, Who makes a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters:
17 “When He brings out the chariot and horse, the army and the power lie together, and shall not rise. They are extinguished and quenched, as a wick.
18 “Do not remember the former things or regard the things of old.
19 “Behold, I do a new thing. It shall come forth now. Will you not know it? I will even make a way in the desert, rivers in the wilderness.
20 “The wild beasts shall honor Me, the dragons and the ostriches, because I gave water in the desert and rivers in the wilderness, to give drink to My people, even to My Elect.
21 “I have formed this people for Myself. They shall show forth My praise.
126 When the LORD brought back the captives of Zion, we were like those who dream.
2 Then our mouth was filled with laughter and our tongue with joy. Then they said among the heathen, “The LORD has done great things for them.”
3 The LORD has done great things for us! We rejoice!
4 O LORD, bring back our captives as the rivers in the south.
5 Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy.
6 They went weeping and carried precious seed. They shall return with joy and bring their sheaves. A song of degrees, or Psalm, of Solomon
4 though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If anyone else thinks that he might have confidence in the flesh, more so I—
5 circumcised the eighth day; of the kindred of Israel; of the tribe of Benjamin; a Hebrew of Hebrews; by the Law, a Pharisee.
6 Concerning zeal, I persecuted the Church. According to righteousness (which is in the Law), I had become blameless.
7 But whatever things that were gain to me, the same I have counted as loss for Christ’s sake.
8 Indeed, also, I count all things but loss for the sake of the surpassing knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for Whom I have counted all things loss and judge them to be garbage, so that I may gain Christ
9 and be found in Him—that is, not having my own righteousness (which is of the Law) but that which is through faith in Christ (the righteousness which is from God by faith) —
10 so that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His suffering and be conformed to His death
11 (if by any means I might attain to the resurrection from the dead).
12 Not that I have already attained to it or been perfected. But I follow so that I may seize that for which I also was seized by Christ Jesus.
13 Brothers, I do not count myself as having seized it. But one thing I do: I forget that which is behind and stretch forward toward that which is ahead;
14 and follow hard toward the mark, for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
12 Then, six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus was; who had died and whom He had raised from the dead.
2 There they made Him a supper, and Martha served. But Lazarus was one of those who sat at the table with Him.
3 Then Mary took a pound of ointment of Spikenard (very costly) and anointed Jesus’ feet, and wiped His feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the ointment.
4 Then one of His disciples who would betray him, Judas Iscariot (son of Simon) said,
5 “Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred denari and given to the poor?”
6 Now, he said this, not because he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and held that which was given.
7 Then Jesus said, “Let her alone. She kept it for the day of My burying.
8 “For the poor you have with you always. But Me you shall not have always.”
