Psalm 91:1-2

In the Shadow of the Almighty

91 He who abides in the (A)shelter of the Most High
Will abide in the (B)shadow of the Almighty.
I will say to Yahweh, “My (C)refuge and my (D)fortress,
My God, in whom I (E)trust!”

Psalm 91:9-16

[a]For you have made Yahweh—(A)my refuge,
The Most High—(B)your dwelling place.
10 (C)No evil will befall you,
And no plague will come near your [b]tent.

11 For He will command (D)His angels concerning you,
To guard you in all your ways.
12 On their hands they will (E)bear you up,
Lest you strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will (F)tread upon the fierce lion and cobra,
The young lion and the [c]serpent you will trample down.

14 (G)Because he has loved Me, therefore I will protect him;
I will (H)set him securely on high, because he has (I)known My name.
15 He will (J)call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in his [d]distress;
I will rescue him and (K)honor him.
16 With [e]a (L)long life I will satisfy him
And (M)I will show him My salvation.”

Exodus 5:10-23

10 So (A)the taskmasters of the people and their foremen went out and spoke to the people, saying, “Thus says Pharaoh, ‘I am not going to give you any straw. 11 You go and get straw for yourselves wherever you can find it, but no amount of your slave labor will be reduced.’” 12 So the people scattered through all the land of Egypt to gather stubble for straw. 13 And the taskmasters were pressing them, saying, “Complete your [a]work quota, [b]the daily amount, just as when there was straw.” 14 Moreover, (B)the foremen of the sons of Israel, whom Pharaoh’s taskmasters had set over them, (C)were beaten [c]and were asked, “Why have you not completed your required amount either yesterday or today in making brick as previously?”

15 Then the foremen of the sons of Israel came and cried out to Pharaoh, saying, “Why do you deal this way with your slaves? 16 There is no straw given to your slaves, yet they keep saying to us, ‘Make bricks!’ And behold, your slaves are being beaten; but it is the [d]sin of your own people.” 17 But he said, “You are (D)lazy—lazy! Therefore you say, ‘Let us go and sacrifice to Yahweh.’ 18 So now, go and labor; but straw will not be given to you, yet you must deliver the quota of bricks.” 19 Then the foremen of the sons of Israel saw that they were in trouble [e]because they were told, “You must not reduce [f]your daily amount of bricks.” 20 When they left Pharaoh’s presence, they confronted Moses and Aaron, [g]standing there to meet them. 21 (E)And they said to them, “(F)May Yahweh look upon you and judge, for you have (G)made [h]us a foul smell in Pharaoh’s sight and in the sight of his servants, to put a sword in their hand to kill us.”

22 Then Moses returned to Yahweh and said, “(H)O Lord, why have You brought harm to this people? Why did You ever send me? 23 Ever since I came to Pharaoh to speak in Your name, he has done harm to this people, (I)and You have not delivered Your people at all.”

Acts 7:30-34

30 “And after forty years had passed, (A)an angel appeared to him in the wilderness of Mount Sinai, in the flame of a burning bush. 31 When Moses saw it, he was marveling at the sight; and as he approached to look more closely, there came the voice of the [a]Lord: 32 (B)I am the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob.’ Moses trembled with fear and would not dare to look. 33 (C)But the [b]Lord said to him, ‘(D)Remove the sandals from your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground. 34 (E)I have surely seen the oppression of My people in Egypt and have heard their groans, and I have come down to deliver them; [c](F)come now, and I will send you to Egypt.’
