99 The LORD reigns! Let the people tremble. He sits between the Cherubims. Let the Earth be moved!

² The LORD is great in Zion; and He is high above all the people.

³ They shall praise Your great and fearful Name (It is Holy).

⁴ Also, the King’s power loves judgment. You establish equity. You have executed judgment and justice in Jacob.

⁵ Exalt the LORD our God and bow down before His footstool. He is Holy.

⁶ Moses and Aaron were among His Priests, and Samuel among such as call upon His Name. These called upon the LORD and He heard them.

⁷ He spoke to them in the cloudy pillar. They kept His testimonies, the Law which He gave them.

⁸ You heard them, O LORD our God. You were a favorable God to them, though You took vengeance for their evil deeds.

⁹ Exalt the LORD our God and bow down before His Holy Mountain; for the LORD our God is Holy. A Psalm of praise

⁶ “Understand, therefore, that the LORD your God does not give you this good land to possess it because of your righteousness. For you are a stiff-necked people.

⁷ “Remember. Do not forget how you provoked the LORD your God to anger in the wilderness. Since the day that you departed out of the land of Egypt, until you came into this place, you have rebelled against the LORD.

⁸ “Also in Horeb you provoked the LORD to anger, so that the LORD was angry with you, to destroy you,

⁹ “when I had gone up into the mount, to receive the Tablets of stone, the Tablets of the Covenant which the LORD made with you. And I stayed on the mount for forty days and forty nights. I neither ate bread nor drank water.

¹⁰ “Then the LORD delivered me two Tablets of stone, written with the Finger of God. And on them were all the words which the LORD had said to you on the mount, out of the midst of the fire, on the day of the assembly.

¹¹ “And when the forty days and forty nights had ended, the LORD gave me the two Tablets of stone, the Tablets of the Covenant.

¹² “And the LORD said to me, ‘Arise. Get down quickly from here. For your people, which you have brought out of Egypt, are corrupt. They have quickly turned out of the way which I Commanded them. They have made themselves a molten image.’

¹³ “Furthermore, the LORD spoke to me, saying, ‘I have seen this people, and behold, it is a stiff-necked people.

¹⁴ ‘Leave me alone, so that I may destroy them and put out their name from under Heaven. And I will make from you a mighty Nation, and greater than they are.’

10 Furthermore, there was a certain man in Caesarea named Cornelius - a captain of the band called the ‘Italian’ -

² a devout man, and one who feared God with all his household, who gave many alms to the people, and prayed to God continually.

³ Evidently, he saw an angel of God in a vision (about the ninth hour of the day) coming in to him and saying, “Cornelius.”

⁴ But when he looked at him, he was afraid, and said, “What is it, Lord?” And he said to him, “Your prayers and your alms have come up in remembrance before God.

⁵ “Now, therefore, send men to Joppa, and call for Simon, whose surname is Peter.

⁶ “He lodges with one Simon, a Tanner, whose house is by the seaside. He shall tell you what you ought to do.”

⁷ And when the angel who spoke to Cornelius had departed, he called two of his servants and a God-fearing soldier (one of those who waited on him continually).

⁸ And he told them all things and sent them to Joppa.
