2 But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be Lord in Israel; and his goings forth are from the beginning, from the days of the ages.
3 Therefore he will give them up until the time that she who travails has brought forth; then the remnant of his brethren shall return with the sons of Israel.
4 And he shall stand and feed in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God; and they shall abide; for now he shall be great unto the ends of the earth.
5 And he shall be our peace when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our palaces, then we shall raise against him seven shepherds and eight principal men.
46 Then Mary said, My soul magnifies the Lord,
47 and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Saving Health,
48 for he has regarded the low estate of his handmaiden; for, behold, from now on all generations shall call me blessed.
49 For he that is mighty has done great things unto me, and holy is his name.
50 And his mercy is on those that fear him from generation to generation.
51 He has shown strength with his arm; he has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
52 He has put down the mighty from their thrones and exalted the humble.
53 He has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent empty away.
54 He has received his servant Israel in remembrance of his mercy
55 as he spoke to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed forever.
To the Overcomer upon Shoshannim, {lilies} A testimony of Asaph: A Psalm.
1 ¶ Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that dwellest between the cherubim, shine forth.
2 In the presence of Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh stir up thy strength and come and save us.
3 Turn us again, O God, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.
4 O LORD God of the hosts, how long wilt thou be angry against the prayer of thy people?
5 Thou dost feed them with the bread of tears and give them tears to drink in great measure.
6 Thou dost make us a strife unto our neighbours, and our enemies laugh at us among themselves.
7 Turn us again, O God of the hosts, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.
5 Therefore when he came into the world, he said, Sacrifice and offering thou dost not desire, but a body hast thou prepared me;
6 in burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.
7 ¶ Then said I, Behold, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me) to do thy will, O God.
8 Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou dost not desire, neither hadst pleasure therein, which are offered by the law;
9 then he said, Behold, I come to do thy will, O God. He took away the first, that he may establish the second.
10 In this will, we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus, the Christ, once for all.
39 ¶ And Mary arose in those days and went into the hill country with haste into a city of Juda
40 and entered into the house of Zacharias and saluted Elisabeth.
41 And it came to pass that when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit;
42 and she spoke out with a loud voice and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.
43 And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
44 For, behold, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in my ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.
45 And blessed is she that believed, for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.
