Version
Isaiah 12:2-6

“Behold, God is my salvation;
    I will trust, and will not be afraid;
for (A)the Lord God[a] is my strength and my song,
    and he has become my salvation.”

(B)With joy you[b] will draw water from the wells of salvation. (C)And you will say in that day:

(D)“Give thanks to the Lord,
    call upon his name,
(E)make known his deeds among the peoples,
    proclaim (F)that his name is exalted.

(G)“Sing praises to the Lord, for he has done gloriously;
    let this be made known[c] in all the earth.
Shout, and sing for joy, O inhabitant of Zion,
    for great (H)in your[d] midst is (I)the Holy One of Israel.”

Amos 9:8-15

Behold, (A)the eyes of the Lord God are upon the sinful kingdom,
    and I will destroy it from the surface of the ground,
    (B)except that I will not utterly destroy the house of Jacob,”
declares the Lord.

“For behold, I will command,
    (C)and shake the house of Israel among all the nations
as one shakes with a sieve,
    but no pebble shall fall to the earth.
10 All the sinners of my people shall die by the sword,
    who say, (D)‘Disaster shall not overtake or meet us.’

The Restoration of Israel

11 “In that day (E)I will raise up
    the booth of David that is fallen
and repair its breaches,
    and raise up its ruins
    and rebuild it as in the days of old,
12 (F)that they may possess the remnant of Edom
    and (G)all the nations who are called by my name,”[a]
    declares the Lord who does this.

13 “Behold, the days are coming,” declares the Lord,
    (H)“when the plowman shall overtake the reaper
    and the treader of grapes him who sows the seed;
(I)the mountains shall drip sweet wine,
    and all the hills shall flow with it.
14 (J)I will restore the fortunes of my people Israel,
    and (K)they shall rebuild the ruined cities and inhabit them;
(L)they shall plant vineyards and drink their wine,
    and they shall make gardens and eat their fruit.
15 (M)I will plant them on their land,
    (N)and they shall never again be uprooted
    out of the land (O)that I have given them,”
says the Lord your God.

Luke 1:57-66

The Birth of John the Baptist

57 Now the time came for Elizabeth to give birth, and she bore a son. 58 And her neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord (A)had shown great mercy to her, and they rejoiced with her. 59 And (B)on the eighth day they came to circumcise the child. And they would have called him Zechariah after his father, 60 but his mother answered, “No; (C)he shall be called John.” 61 And they said to her, “None of your relatives is called by this name.” 62 And (D)they made signs to his father, inquiring what he wanted him to be called. 63 And he asked for (E)a writing tablet and wrote, (F)“His name is John.” And they all wondered. 64 (G)And immediately his mouth was opened and his tongue (H)loosed, and he spoke, (I)blessing God. 65 And (J)fear came on all their neighbors. And all these things were talked about through all (K)the hill country of Judea, 66 and all who heard them (L)laid them up in their hearts, saying, “What then will this child be?” For (M)the hand of the Lord was with him.
