Revised Common Lectionary (Complementary)
12 ¶ And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince who is for the sons of thy people, and it shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there were people until now, but in that time thy people shall escape, all those that are found written in the book.
2 And many of those that sleep in the dust of the earth shall be awakened, some for eternal life, and some for shame and everlasting confusion.
3 And those that understand shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and those that teach righteousness to the multitude as the stars in perpetual eternity.
Michtam of David.
1 ¶ Preserve me, O God: for in thee I have put my trust.
2 I said unto the LORD, Thou art my goodness: I have no goodness apart from thee;
3 to the saints that are in the earth and to the excellent: all my delight is towards them.
4 The sorrows of those that hasten after another god shall be multiplied; their drink offerings of blood I will not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.
5 The LORD is the portion of my inheritance and of my cup; thou dost maintain my lot.
6 The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a beautiful inheritance.
7 I will bless the LORD, who gives me counsel: my kidneys also instruct me in the night seasons.
8 ¶ I have set the LORD always before me: because when he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices: my flesh also shall rest secure.
10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in Sheol; neither wilt thou suffer thy Merciful One to see corruption.
11 Thou wilt show me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; in thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
11 And so every priest stands daily ministering and offering many times the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins,
12 but this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, is seated at the right hand of God,
13 waiting for that which follows, that is, until his enemies are made his footstool.
14 For by one offering he has perfected for ever those that are sanctified.
15 Likewise the Holy Spirit gives us the same witness, who afterwards said,
16 This is the testament that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will give my laws in their hearts, and in their souls will I write them;
17 and their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
19 ¶ Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the sanctuary by the blood of Jesus,
20 by a new and living way, which he has consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;
21 and having that great priest over the house of God,
22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts purified from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water;
23 let us hold fast the profession of our hope without wavering (for he is faithful that promised).
24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto charity and unto good works,
25 not forsaking our gathering together, as the manner of some is, but exhorting one another and so much the more, when ye see that day approaching.
13 ¶ And as he went out of the temple, one of his disciples said unto him, Master, see what manner of stones and what buildings are here!
2 And Jesus, answering, said unto him, Seest thou these great buildings? There shall not be left one stone upon another that shall not be thrown down.
3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives over against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately,
4 Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all things are to be finished?
5 ¶ And Jesus, answering them, began to say, Take heed that no one deceive you,
6 for many shall come in my name, saying, I Am Christ, and shall deceive many.
7 And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled, for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet.
8 For people shall rise against people and kingdom against kingdom, and there shall be earthquakes in each place, and there shall be famines and troubles: these shall be the beginnings of sorrows.
