Psalm 106:1-6

Joy in Forgiveness of Israel’s Sins

106 Praise[a] the Lord!

(A)Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever.

Who can [b]utter the mighty acts of the Lord?
Who can declare all His praise?
Blessed are those who keep justice,
And [c]he who (B)does righteousness at (C)all times!

(D)Remember me, O Lord, with the favor You have toward Your people.
Oh, visit me with Your salvation,
That I may see the benefit of Your chosen ones,
That I may rejoice in the gladness of Your nation,
That I may glory with [d]Your inheritance.

(E)We have sinned with our fathers,
We have committed iniquity,
We have done wickedly.

Psalm 106:13-23

13 (A)They soon forgot His works;
They did not wait for His counsel,
14 (B)But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness,
And tested God in the desert.
15 (C)And He gave them their request,
But (D)sent leanness into their soul.

16 When (E)they envied Moses in the camp,
And Aaron the saint of the Lord,
17 (F)The earth opened up and swallowed Dathan,
And covered the faction of Abiram.
18 (G)A fire was kindled in their company;
The flame burned up the wicked.

19 (H)They made a calf in Horeb,
And worshiped the molded image.
20 Thus (I)they changed their glory
Into the image of an ox that eats grass.
21 They forgot God their Savior,
Who had done great things in Egypt,
22 Wondrous works in the land of Ham,
Awesome things by the Red Sea.
23 (J)Therefore He said that He would destroy them,
Had not Moses His chosen one (K)stood before Him in the breach,
To turn away His wrath, lest He destroy them.

Psalm 106:47-48

47 (A)Save us, O Lord our God,
And gather us from among the Gentiles,
To give thanks to Your holy name,
To triumph in Your praise.

48 (B)Blessed be the Lord God of Israel
From everlasting to everlasting!
And let all the people say, “Amen!”

[a]Praise the Lord!

Deuteronomy 4:9-14

Only take heed to yourself, and diligently (A)keep yourself, lest you (B)forget the things your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life. And (C)teach them to your children and your grandchildren, 10 especially concerning (D)the day you stood before the Lord your God in Horeb, when the Lord said to me, ‘Gather the people to Me, and I will let them hear My words, that they may learn to fear Me all the days they live on the earth, and that they may teach their children.’

11 “Then you came near and stood at the foot of the mountain, and the mountain burned with fire to the midst of heaven, with darkness, cloud, and thick darkness. 12 (E)And the Lord spoke to you out of the midst of the fire. You heard the sound of the words, but saw no [a]form; (F)you only heard a voice. 13 (G)So He declared to you His covenant which He commanded you to perform, (H)the Ten Commandments; and (I)He wrote them on two tablets of stone. 14 And (J)the Lord commanded me at that time to teach you statutes and judgments, that you might [b]observe them in the land which you cross over to possess.

1 Timothy 4:6-16

A Good Servant of Jesus Christ

If you instruct the brethren in these things, you will be a good minister of Jesus Christ, (A)nourished in the words of faith and of the good doctrine which you have carefully followed. But (B)reject profane and old wives’ fables, and (C)exercise yourself toward godliness. For (D)bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, (E)having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come. This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance. 10 For to this end [a]we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, (F)who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe. 11 These things command and teach.

Take Heed to Your Ministry

12 Let no one [b]despise your youth, but be an (G)example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, [c]in spirit, in faith, in purity. 13 Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to [d]doctrine. 14 (H)Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy (I)with the laying on of the hands of the eldership. 15 Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all. 16 Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.
