Version
Psalm 106:1-6

Israel’s Rebelliousness and the Lord’s Deliverances.

106 [a]Praise [b]the Lord!
Oh (A)give thanks to the Lord, for He (B)is good;
For (C)His lovingkindness is everlasting.
Who can speak of the (D)mighty deeds of the Lord,
Or can show forth all His praise?
How blessed are those who keep [c]justice,
[d]Who (E)practice righteousness at all times!

Remember me, O Lord, in Your (F)favor [e]toward Your people;
Visit me with Your salvation,
That I may see the (G)prosperity of Your chosen ones,
That I may (H)rejoice in the gladness of Your nation,
That I may (I)glory with Your [f]inheritance.

(J)We have sinned [g](K)like our fathers,
We have committed iniquity, we have behaved wickedly.

Psalm 106:13-23

13 They quickly (A)forgot His works;
They (B)did not wait for His counsel,
14 But (C)craved intensely in the wilderness,
And [a](D)tempted God in the desert.
15 So He (E)gave them their request,
But (F)sent a [b]wasting disease among them.

16 When they became (G)envious of Moses in the camp,
And of Aaron, the holy one of the Lord,
17 The (H)earth opened and swallowed up Dathan,
And engulfed the [c]company of Abiram.
18 And a (I)fire blazed up in their [d]company;
The flame consumed the wicked.

19 They (J)made a calf in Horeb
And worshiped a molten image.
20 Thus they (K)exchanged their glory
For the image of an ox that eats grass.
21 They (L)forgot God their Savior,
Who had done (M)great things in Egypt,
22 [e](N)Wonders in the land of Ham
And awesome things by the [f]Red Sea.
23 Therefore (O)He said that He would destroy them,
Had not (P)Moses His chosen one stood in the breach before Him,
To turn away His wrath from destroying them.

Psalm 106:47-48

47 (A)Save us, O Lord our God,
And (B)gather us from among the nations,
To give thanks to Your holy name
And [a](C)glory in Your praise.
48 (D)Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel,
From everlasting even to everlasting.
And let all the people say, “Amen.”
[b]Praise [c]the Lord!

Deuteronomy 4:9-14

“Only (A)give heed to yourself and keep your soul diligently, so that you do not forget the things which your eyes have seen and they do not depart from your heart (B)all the days of your life; but (C)make them known to your sons and your grandsons. 10 Remember the day you stood before the Lord your God at Horeb, when the Lord said to me, ‘Assemble the people to Me, that I may let them hear My words (D)so they may learn to [a]fear Me all the days they live on the earth, and that they may (E)teach their children.’ 11 You came near and stood at the foot of the mountain, (F)and the mountain burned with fire to the very heart of the heavens: darkness, cloud and thick gloom. 12 Then the Lord spoke to you from the midst of the fire; you heard the sound of words, but you saw no form—only a voice. 13 So He declared to you His covenant which He commanded you to perform, that is, (G)the Ten [b]Commandments; and (H)He wrote them on two tablets of stone. 14 The Lord commanded me at that time to teach you statutes and judgments, that you might perform them in the land where you are going over to possess it.

1 Timothy 4:6-16

A Good Minister’s Discipline

In pointing out these things to (A)the brethren, you will be a good (B)servant of Christ Jesus, constantly nourished on the words of the faith and of the [a](C)sound doctrine which you (D)have been following. But [b]have nothing to do with (E)worldly (F)fables fit only for old women. On the other hand, discipline yourself for the purpose of (G)godliness; for (H)bodily discipline is only of little profit, but (I)godliness is profitable for all things, since it (J)holds promise for the (K)present life and also for the life to come. (L)It is a trustworthy statement deserving full acceptance. 10 For it is for this we labor and strive, because we have fixed (M)our hope on (N)the living God, who is (O)the Savior of all men, especially of believers.

11 [c](P)Prescribe and teach these things. 12 (Q)Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, (R)love, faith and purity, show yourself (S)an example [d]of those who believe. 13 (T)Until I come, give attention to the public (U)reading of Scripture, to exhortation and teaching. 14 Do not neglect the spiritual gift within you, which was bestowed on you through (V)prophetic utterance with (W)the laying on of hands by the [e](X)presbytery. 15 Take pains with these things; be absorbed in them, so that your progress will be evident to all. 16 (Y)Pay close attention to yourself and to your teaching; persevere in these things, for as you do this you will [f](Z)ensure salvation both for yourself and for those who hear you.
