Psalm 111

The Lord Praised for His Goodness.

111 [a]Praise [b]the Lord!
I (A)will give thanks to the Lord with all my heart,
In the (B)company of the upright and in the assembly.
(C)Great are the works of the Lord;
They are [c](D)studied by all who delight in them.
[d](E)Splendid and majestic is His work,
And (F)His righteousness endures forever.
He has made His [e]wonders [f]to be remembered;
The Lord is (G)gracious and compassionate.
He has (H)given [g]food to those who [h]fear Him;
He will (I)remember His covenant forever.
He has made known to His people the power of His works,
In giving them the heritage of the nations.

The works of His hands are [i](J)truth and justice;
All His precepts (K)are [j]sure.
They are (L)upheld forever and ever;
They are performed in [k](M)truth and uprightness.
He has sent (N)redemption to His people;
He has [l]ordained His covenant forever;
(O)Holy and [m]awesome is His name.
10 The [n](P)fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
A (Q)good understanding have all those who [o]do His commandments;
His (R)praise endures forever.

Exodus 24:1-11

People Affirm Their Covenant with God

24 Then He said to Moses, “(A)Come up to the Lord, you and Aaron, (B)Nadab and Abihu and (C)seventy of the elders of Israel, and you shall worship at a distance. Moses alone, however, shall come near to the Lord, but they shall not come near, nor shall the people come up with him.”

Then Moses came and recounted to the people all the words of the Lord and all the [a]ordinances; and all the people answered with one voice and said, “(D)All the words which the Lord has spoken we will do!” (E)Moses wrote down all the words of the Lord. Then he arose early in the morning, and built an (F)altar [b]at the foot of the mountain with twelve pillars for the twelve tribes of Israel. He sent young men of the sons of Israel, (G)and they offered burnt offerings and sacrificed young bulls as peace offerings to the Lord. (H)Moses took half of the blood and put it in basins, and the other half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar. Then he took (I)the book of the covenant and read it in the hearing of the people; and they said, “(J)All that the Lord has spoken we will do, and we will be obedient!” So (K)Moses took the blood and sprinkled it on the people, and said, “Behold (L)the blood of the covenant, which the Lord has [c]made with you [d]in accordance with all these words.”

Then Moses went up [e]with Aaron, (M)Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel, 10 and (N)they saw the God of Israel; and under His feet [f](O)there appeared to be a pavement of sapphire, [g]as clear as the sky itself. 11 Yet He did not stretch out His hand against the nobles of the sons of Israel; and (P)they saw God, and they ate and drank.

Romans 15:22-33

22 For this reason (A)I have often been prevented from coming to you; 23 but now, with no further place for me in these regions, and since I (B)have had for many years a longing to come to you 24 whenever I (C)go to Spain—for I hope to see you in passing, and to be (D)helped on my way there by you, when I have first (E)enjoyed your company [a]for a while— 25 but now, (F)I am going to Jerusalem (G)serving the [b]saints. 26 For (H)Macedonia and (I)Achaia have been pleased to make a contribution for the poor among the [c]saints in Jerusalem. 27 Yes, they were pleased to do so, and they are indebted to them. For (J)if the Gentiles have shared in their spiritual things, they are indebted to minister to them also in material things. 28 Therefore, when I have finished this, and (K)have [d]put my seal on this fruit of theirs, I will (L)go on by way of you to Spain. 29 I know that when (M)I come to you, I will come in the fullness of the blessing of Christ.

30 Now I urge you, brethren, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by (N)the love of the Spirit, to (O)strive together with me in your prayers to God for me, 31 that I may be (P)rescued from those who are disobedient in Judea, and that my (Q)service for Jerusalem may prove acceptable to the [e](R)saints; 32 so that (S)I may come to you in joy by (T)the will of God and find refreshing rest in your company. 33 Now (U)the God of peace be with you all. Amen.
