Version
Psalm 81:1-10

God’s Goodness and Israel’s Waywardness.

For the music director; [a]on the Gittith. A Psalm of Asaph.

81 (A)Sing for joy to God our (B)strength;
Shout (C)joyfully to the (D)God of Jacob.
Raise a song, strike (E)the tambourine,
The sweet sounding (F)lyre with the (G)harp.
Blow the trumpet at the (H)new moon,
At the full moon, on our (I)feast day.
For it is a statute for Israel,
An ordinance of the God of Jacob.
He established it as a testimony in Joseph
When he [b](J)went throughout the land of Egypt.
I heard a (K)language I did not know:

“I [c](L)relieved his shoulder of the burden,
His hands were freed from the [d]basket.
You (M)called in trouble and I rescued you;
I (N)answered you in the hiding place of thunder;
I put you to the test at the (O)waters of Meribah. Selah
(P)Hear, My people, and I will admonish you;
Israel, if you (Q)would listen to Me!
There shall be no (R)strange god among you;
Nor shall you worship a foreign god.
10 (S)I, the Lord, am your God,
Who brought you up from the land of Egypt;
(T)Open your mouth wide and I will (U)fill it.

Leviticus 24:5-9

(A)Then you shall take fine flour and bake twelve [a]cakes with it; [b]two-tenths of an ephah shall be in each cake. And you shall set them in two rows, six to a row, on the (B)pure gold table before the Lord. You shall put pure frankincense on each row so that it may be (C)a memorial portion for the bread, an offering by fire to the Lord. (D)Every Sabbath day he shall set it in order before the Lord (E)continually; it is an everlasting covenant [c]for the sons of Israel. And (F)it shall be for Aaron and his sons, and they shall eat it in a holy place; for it is most holy to him from the Lords offerings by fire, his portion forever.”

John 7:19-24

19 (A)Did Moses not give you the Law, and yet none of you carries out the Law? Why are you (B)seeking to kill Me?” 20 The crowd answered, “(C)You have a demon! Who is seeking to kill You?” 21 Jesus answered them, “I did (D)one [a]deed, and you all are astonished. 22 For this reason (E)Moses has given you circumcision (not that it is from Moses, but from (F)the fathers), and even on a Sabbath you circumcise a man. 23 (G)If a man receives circumcision on a Sabbath so that the Law of Moses will not be broken, are you angry at Me because I made an entire man well on a Sabbath? 24 Do not (H)judge by the outward appearance, but judge [b]with righteous judgment.”
