Revised Common Lectionary (Complementary)
12 Blessed is the (A)nation whose God is the Lord,
The people whom He has (B)chosen for His own inheritance.
13 The Lord (C)looks from heaven;
He (D)sees all the sons of men;
14 From (E)His dwelling place He looks out
On all the inhabitants of the earth,
15 He who (F)fashions [a]the hearts of them all,
He who (G)understands all their works.
16 (H)The king is not saved by a mighty army;
A warrior is not delivered by great strength.
17 A (I)horse is a false hope for victory;
Nor does it deliver anyone by its great strength.
18 Behold, (J)the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him,
On those who [b](K)hope for His lovingkindness,
19 To (L)deliver their soul from death
And to keep them alive (M)in famine.
20 Our soul (N)waits for the Lord;
He is our (O)help and our shield.
21 For our (P)heart rejoices in Him,
Because we trust in His holy name.
22 Let Your lovingkindness, O Lord, be upon us,
According as we have [c]hoped in You.
6 “(A)Your right hand, O Lord, is majestic in power,
(B)Your right hand, O Lord, shatters the enemy.
7 “And in the greatness of Your [a]excellence You (C)overthrow those who rise up against You;
(D)You send forth Your burning anger, and it (E)consumes them as chaff.
8 “(F)At the blast of Your nostrils the waters were piled up,
(G)The flowing waters stood up like a heap;
The deeps were congealed in the heart of the sea.
9 “(H)The enemy said, ‘I will pursue, I will overtake, I will (I)divide the spoil;
My [b]desire shall be [c]gratified against them;
I will draw out my sword, my hand will [d]destroy them.’
10 “(J)You blew with Your wind, the sea covered them;
(K)They sank like lead in the [e]mighty waters.
11 “(L)Who is like You among the gods, O Lord?
Who is like You, (M)majestic in holiness,
(N)Awesome in praises, (O)working wonders?
37 Now on (A)the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “[a](B)If anyone is thirsty, [b]let him come to Me and drink. 38 He who believes in Me, (C)as the Scripture said, ‘From [c]his innermost being will flow rivers of (D)living water.’” 39 But this He spoke (E)of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive; for (F)the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet (G)glorified.
