Psalm 33:12-22

12 (A)Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
    the people whom he has (B)chosen as his heritage!
13 The Lord (C)looks down from heaven;
    he sees all the children of man;
14 from (D)where he sits enthroned he (E)looks out
    on all the inhabitants of the earth,
15 he who fashions the hearts of them all
    and observes all their deeds.
16 (F)The king is not saved by his great army;
    a warrior is not delivered by his great strength.
17 (G)The war horse is a false hope for salvation,
    and by its great might it cannot rescue.
18 Behold, (H)the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him,
    (I)on those who hope in his steadfast love,
19 that he may (J)deliver their soul from death
    and keep them alive in (K)famine.
20 Our soul (L)waits for the Lord;
    he is our (M)help and (N)our shield.
21 For our heart is (O)glad in him,
    because we (P)trust in his holy name.
22 Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us,
    even as we hope in you.

Genesis 2:4-7

The Creation of Man and Woman

(A)These are the generations
of the heavens and the earth when they were created,
in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens.

When no (B)bush of the field[a] was yet in the land[b] and no small plant of the field had yet sprung up—for the Lord God had not caused it to rain on the land, and there was no man (C)to work the ground, and a mist[c] was going up from the land and was watering the whole face of the ground— then the Lord God formed the man of (D)dust from the ground and (E)breathed into his (F)nostrils the breath of life, and (G)the man became a living creature.

1 Corinthians 15:42-49

42 (A)So is it with the resurrection of the dead. What is sown is perishable; what is raised is imperishable. 43 It is sown in dishonour; (B)it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness; it is raised in power. 44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. 45 Thus it is written, (C)“The first man Adam became a living being”;[a] (D)the last Adam became a (E)life-giving spirit. 46 But it is not the spiritual that is first but the natural, and then the spiritual. 47 (F)The first man was from the earth, (G)a man of dust; (H)the second man is from heaven. 48 As was the man of dust, so also are those who are of the dust, and as is the man of heaven, (I)so also are those who are of heaven. 49 Just (J)as we have borne the image of the man of dust, (K)we shall[b] also bear the image of the man of heaven.
