Revised Common Lectionary (Complementary)
God the King of the Earth.
For the choir director. A Psalm of the sons of Korah.
47 O (A)clap your hands, all peoples;
(B)Shout to God with the voice of [a]joy.
2 For the Lord Most High is to be (C)feared,
A (D)great King over all the earth.
3 He (E)subdues peoples under us
And nations under our feet.
4 He chooses our (F)inheritance for us,
The (G)glory of Jacob whom He loves. [b]Selah.
5 God has (H)ascended [c]with a shout,
The Lord, [d]with the (I)sound of a trumpet.
6 (J)Sing praises to God, sing praises;
Sing praises to (K)our King, sing praises.
7 For God is the (L)King of all the earth;
Sing praises (M)with a [e]skillful psalm.
8 God (N)reigns over the nations,
God [f]sits on (O)His holy throne.
9 The [g](P)princes of the people have assembled themselves as the (Q)people of the God of Abraham,
For the (R)shields of the earth belong to God;
He [h]is (S)highly exalted.
The Death of Moses
34 (A)Now Moses went up from the plains of Moab to Mount Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, which is opposite Jericho. And the Lord (B)showed him all the land, Gilead as far as Dan, 2 and all Naphtali and the land of Ephraim and Manasseh, and all the land of Judah as far as the [a](C)western sea, 3 and the [b]Negev and the plain in the valley of Jericho, (D)the city of palm trees, as far as Zoar. 4 Then the Lord said to him, “This is the land which (E)I swore to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, saying, ‘I will give it to your [c]descendants’; I have let you see it with your eyes, but you shall not go over there.” 5 So Moses (F)the servant of the Lord (G)died there in the land of Moab, according to the [d]word of the Lord. 6 And He buried him in the valley in the land of Moab, (H)opposite Beth-peor; but (I)no man knows his burial place to this day. 7 Although Moses was (J)one hundred and twenty years old when he died, (K)his eye was not dim, nor his vigor abated.
4 But these things I have spoken to you, (A)so that when their hour comes, you [a]may remember that I told you of them. These things I did not say to you (B)at the beginning, because I was with you.
The Holy Spirit Promised
5 “But now (C)I am going to Him who sent Me; and none of you asks Me, ‘(D)Where are You going?’ 6 But because I have said these things to you, (E)sorrow has filled your heart. 7 But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the [b](F)Helper will not come to you; but if I go, (G)I will send Him to you. 8 And He, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment; 9 concerning sin, (H)because they do not believe in Me; 10 and concerning (I)righteousness, because (J)I go to the Father and you no longer see Me; 11 (K)and concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged.
