Revised Common Lectionary (Complementary)
A Call to Praise the Lord for His Righteousness.
A Psalm.
98 O sing to the Lord a (A)new song,
For He has done (B)wonderful things,
His (C)right hand and His (D)holy arm have [a]gained the victory for Him.
2 (E)The Lord has made known His salvation;
He has (F)revealed His [b]righteousness in the sight of the nations.
3 He has (G)remembered His lovingkindness and His faithfulness to the house of Israel;
(H)All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
44 Then Moses came and spoke all the words of this song in the hearing of the people, he, with [a](A)Joshua the son of Nun. 45 When Moses had finished speaking all these words to all Israel, 46 he said to them, “(B)Take to your heart all the words with which I am warning you today, which you shall command (C)your sons to observe [b]carefully, even all the words of this law. 47 For it is not an idle word for you; indeed (D)it is your life. And (E)by this word you will prolong your days in the land, [c]which you are about to cross the Jordan to [d]possess.”
42 Calling them to Himself, Jesus *said to them, “You know that those who are recognized as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them; and their great men exercise authority over them. 43 But it is not this way among you, (A)but whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant; 44 and whoever wishes to be first among you shall be slave of all. 45 For even the Son of Man (B)did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His [a]life a ransom for many.”
