Psalm 80

God Implored to Rescue His People from Their Calamities.

For the music director; set to [a]El Shoshannim; [b]Eduth. A Psalm of Asaph.

80 Listen, (A)Shepherd of Israel,
Who leads (B)Joseph like a flock;
You who (C)are enthroned above the cherubim, shine forth!
Before (D)Ephraim, Benjamin, and Manasseh, (E)awaken Your power,
And come to save us!
God, (F)restore us
And (G)make Your face shine upon us, [c]and we will be saved.

(H)Lord God of armies,
(I)How long will You [d]be angry with the prayer of Your people?
You have fed them with the (J)bread of tears,
And You have made them drink tears in [e]large measure.
You make us [f]an object of contention (K)to our neighbors,
And our enemies laugh among themselves.
God of armies, restore us
And make Your face shine upon us, [g]and we will be saved.

You removed a (L)vine from Egypt;
You (M)drove out the [h]nations and (N)planted it.
You (O)cleared the ground before it,
And it (P)took deep root and filled the land.
10 The mountains were covered with its shadow,
And [i]the cedars of God with its (Q)branches.
11 It was sending out its branches (R)to the sea
And its shoots to the Euphrates River.
12 Why have You (S)broken down its [j]hedges,
So that all who pass that way pick its fruit?
13 A boar from the forest (T)eats it away,
And whatever moves in the field feeds on it.

14 God of armies, do (U)turn back;
(V)Look down from heaven and see, and take care of this vine,
15 The [k](W)shoot which Your right hand has planted,
And of the [l]son whom You have [m]strengthened for Yourself.
16 It is (X)burned with fire, it is cut down;
They perish from the (Y)rebuke of Your face.
17 Let (Z)Your hand be upon the man of Your right hand,
Upon the son of man whom You (AA)made strong for Yourself.
18 Then we will not (AB)turn back from You;
(AC)Revive us, and we will call upon Your name.
19 Lord God of armies, (AD)restore us;
Make Your face shine upon us, [n]and we will be saved.

Isaiah 65:17-25

New Heavens and a New Earth

17 “For behold, I create (A)new heavens and a new earth;
And the (B)former things will not be remembered or come to [a]mind.
18 But be (C)glad and rejoice forever in what I create;
For behold, I create Jerusalem for rejoicing
And her people for gladness.
19 I will also (D)rejoice in Jerusalem and be glad in My people;
And there will no longer be heard in her
The voice of (E)weeping and the sound of crying.
20 No longer will there be [b]in it an infant who lives only a few days,
Or an old person who does (F)not [c]live out his days;
For the youth will die at the age of a hundred,
And the [d](G)one who does not reach the age of a hundred
Will be thought accursed.
21 They will (H)build houses and inhabit them;
They will also (I)plant vineyards and eat their fruit.
22 They will not build and (J)another inhabit,
They will not plant and another eat;
For (K)as the [e]lifetime of a tree, so will be the days of My people,
And My chosen ones will (L)fully enjoy the work of their hands.
23 They will (M)not labor in vain,
Or give birth to children for disaster;
For they are the [f](N)descendants of those blessed by the Lord,
And their descendants with them.

24 It will also come to pass that before they call, I will (O)answer; while they are still speaking, I will listen. 25 The (P)wolf and the lamb will graze together, and the (Q)lion will eat straw like the ox; and (R)dust will be the serpent’s food. They will (S)do no evil or harm on all My (T)holy mountain,” says the Lord.

John 14:18-31

18 “I will not leave you as orphans; (A)I am coming to you. 19 [a](B)After a little while, (C)the world no longer is going to see Me, but you are going to see Me; (D)because I live, you also will live. 20 (E)On that day you will know that (F)I am in My Father, and you are in Me, and I in you. 21 (G)The one who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and (H)the one who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will (I)reveal Myself to him.” 22 (J)Judas (not Iscariot) *said to Him, “Lord, what has happened (K)that You are going to reveal Yourself to us and not to the world?” 23 Jesus answered and said to him, (L)If anyone loves Me, he will (M)follow My word; and (N)My Father will love him, and We (O)will come to him and make Our dwelling with him. 24 The one who does not love Me (P)does not follow My words; and (Q)the word which you hear is not Mine, but the Father’s who sent Me.

25 “These things I have spoken to you while remaining with you. 26 But the (R)Helper, the Holy Spirit (S)whom the Father will send in My name, (T)He will teach you all things, and (U)remind you of all that I said to you. 27 (V)Peace I leave you, My peace I give you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. (W)[b]Do not let your hearts be troubled, nor [c]fearful. 28 (X)You heard that I said to you, ‘I am going away, and (Y)I am coming to you.’ If you loved Me, you would have rejoiced [d]because (Z)I am going to the Father, for (AA)the Father is greater than I. 29 And now (AB)I have told you before it happens, so that when it happens, you may believe. 30 I will not speak much more with you, for (AC)the ruler of the world is coming, and he has [e]nothing in regard to Me, 31 but so that the world may know that I love the Father, [f]I do exactly as (AD)the Father commanded Me. Get up, (AE)let’s go from here.
