Revised Common Lectionary (Complementary)
25 From You comes (A)my praise in the great assembly;
I shall (B)pay my vows before those who fear Him.
26 The [a]afflicted will eat and (C)be satisfied;
Those who seek Him will (D)praise the Lord.
Let your (E)heart live forever!
27 All the (F)ends of the earth will remember and turn to the Lord,
And all the (G)families of the nations will worship before [b]You.
28 For the (H)kingdom is the Lord’s
And He (I)rules over the nations.
29 All the [c](J)prosperous of the earth will eat and worship,
All those who (K)go down to the dust will bow before Him,
Even he who [d](L)cannot keep his soul alive.
30 [e](M)Posterity will serve Him;
It will be told of the Lord to (N)the coming generation.
31 They will come and (O)will declare His righteousness
To a people (P)who will be born, that He has performed it.
7 “Are you not as the sons of (A)Ethiopia to Me,
O sons of Israel?” declares the Lord.
“Have I not brought up Israel from the land of Egypt,
And the (B)Philistines from Caphtor and the (C)Arameans from (D)Kir?
8 “Behold, the (E)eyes of the Lord God are on the sinful kingdom,
And I will (F)destroy it from the face of the earth;
Nevertheless, I will (G)not totally destroy the house of Jacob,”
Declares the Lord.
9 “For behold, I am commanding,
And I will (H)shake the house of Israel among all nations
As grain is shaken in a sieve,
But not a [a]kernel will fall to the ground.
10 “All the (I)sinners of My people will die by the sword,
Those who say, ‘(J)The calamity will not overtake or confront us.’
The Restoration of Israel
11 “In that day I will (K)raise up the fallen [b](L)booth of David,
And wall up its (M)breaches;
I will also raise up its ruins
And rebuild it as in the (N)days of old;
12 (O)That they may possess the remnant of (P)Edom
And all the [c]nations who are (Q)called by My name,”
Declares the Lord who does this.
13 “Behold, days are coming,” declares the Lord,
“When the (R)plowman will overtake the reaper
And the treader of grapes him who sows seed;
When the (S)mountains will drip sweet (T)wine
And all the hills will be dissolved.
14 “Also I will (U)restore the [d]captivity of My people Israel,
And they will (V)rebuild the ruined cities and live in them;
They will also (W)plant vineyards and drink their wine,
And make gardens and eat their fruit.
15 “I will also plant them on their land,
And (X)they will not again be rooted out from their land
Which I have given them,”
Says the Lord your God.
Parable of the Mustard Seed
30 (A)And He said, “How shall we [a](B)picture the kingdom of God, or by what parable shall we present it? 31 It is like a mustard seed, which, when sown upon the soil, though it is smaller than all the seeds that are upon the soil, 32 yet when it is sown, it grows up and becomes larger than all the garden plants and forms large branches; so that (C)the birds of the [b]air can nest under its shade.”
