Revised Common Lectionary (Complementary)
Praise to the Lord, and Warning against Unbelief.
95 O come, let us (A)sing for joy to the Lord,
Let us shout joyfully to (B)the rock of our salvation.
2 Let us (C)come before His presence (D)with [a]thanksgiving,
Let us shout joyfully to Him (E)with [b]psalms.
3 For the Lord is a (F)great God
And a great King (G)above all gods,
4 In whose hand are the (H)depths of the earth,
The peaks of the mountains are His also.
5 [c]The sea is His, for it was He (I)who made it,
And His hands formed the dry land.
6 Come, let us (J)worship and bow down,
Let us (K)kneel before the Lord our (L)Maker.
7 For He is our God,
And (M)we are the people of His [d](N)pasture and the sheep of His hand.
(O)Today, [e]if you would hear His voice,
8 Do not harden your hearts, as at [f](P)Meribah,
As in the day of [g](Q)Massah in the wilderness,
9 “When your fathers (R)tested Me,
They tried Me, though they had seen My work.
10 “For (S)forty years I loathed that generation,
And said they are a people who err in their heart,
And they do not know My ways.
11 “Therefore I (T)swore in My anger,
Truly they shall not enter into My (U)rest.”
8 (A)Do not rejoice over me, O (B)my enemy.
Though I fall I will (C)rise;
Though I dwell in darkness, the Lord is a (D)light for me.
9 I will bear the indignation of the Lord
Because I have sinned against Him,
Until He (E)pleads my case and executes justice for me.
He will bring me out to the (F)light,
And I will see His [a](G)righteousness.
10 Then my enemy will see,
And shame will cover her who (H)said to me,
“Where is the Lord your God?”
My eyes will look on her;
[b]At that time she will [c]be (I)trampled down
Like mire of the streets.
11 It will be a day for (J)building your walls.
On that day will your boundary be extended.
12 It will be a day when [d]they will (K)come to you
From Assyria and the cities of Egypt,
From Egypt even to the [e]Euphrates,
Even from sea to sea and mountain to mountain.
13 And the earth will become (L)desolate because of her inhabitants,
On account of the (M)fruit of their deeds.
14 (N)Shepherd Your people with Your (O)scepter,
The flock of Your [f]possession
Which dwells by itself in the woodland,
In the midst of [g]a fruitful field.
Let them feed in (P)Bashan and Gilead
(Q)As in the days of old.
15 “As in the days when you came out from the land of Egypt,
I will show [h](R)you miracles.”
16 Nations (S)will see and be ashamed
Of all their might.
They will (T)put their hand on their mouth,
Their ears will be deaf.
17 They will (U)lick the dust like a serpent,
Like (V)reptiles of the earth.
They will come (W)trembling out of their [i]fortresses;
To the Lord our God they will come in (X)dread
And they will be afraid before You.
18 Who is a God like You, who (Y)pardons iniquity
And passes over the rebellious act of the (Z)remnant of His [j]possession?
He does not (AA)retain His anger forever,
Because He (AB)delights in [k]unchanging love.
19 He will again have compassion on us;
(AC)He will tread our iniquities under foot.
Yes, You will (AD)cast all [l]their sins
Into the depths of the sea.
20 You will give [m](AE)truth to Jacob
And [n]unchanging love to Abraham,
Which You (AF)swore to our forefathers
From the days of old.
26 (A)After singing a hymn, they went out to (B)the Mount of Olives.
27 (C)And Jesus *said to them, “You will all [a]fall away, because it is written, ‘(D)I will strike down the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered.’ 28 But after I have been raised, (E)I will go ahead of you to Galilee.” 29 But Peter said to Him, “Even though all may [b]fall away, yet I will not.” 30 And Jesus *said to him, “Truly I say to you, that [c](F)this very night, before (G)a rooster crows twice, you yourself will deny Me three times.” 31 But Peter kept saying insistently, “Even if I have to die with You, I will not deny You!” And they all were saying the same thing also.
