为上帝而活
11 亲爱的朋友们，你们在这个世上，就像异客与陌生人，所以我恳请你们，不要放纵与你们自我作战的肉体欲望。 12 在外族人当中，你们要保持良好的品行，这样，尽管他们把你们当成罪犯来控告，但他们会看到你们的品行，等到基督到来的那一天，他们会把荣耀归于上帝。
服从人类的权威
13 为了主的缘故，你们要服从世上的掌权者。 14 要服从最高权威，即君王；要服从他派来的统治者，他们被派来惩罚做恶的人，赞扬行善的人。 15 因为上帝的旨意是：用你们的善行堵住那些愚昧无知的嘴巴。 16 要像自由人一样生活，但是不要把自由当做做恶的借口，要像上帝的仆人那样生活。 17 尊敬所有的人，爱基督里的兄弟姐妹，敬畏上帝，尊敬君王。
