New King James Version (NKJV)
Version
Psalm 85:8-13

I will hear what God the Lord will speak,
For He will speak peace
To His people and to His saints;
But let them not turn back to [a]folly.
Surely (A)His salvation is near to those who fear Him,
(B)That glory may dwell in our land.

10 Mercy and truth have met together;
(C)Righteousness and peace have kissed.
11 Truth shall spring out of the earth,
And righteousness shall look down from heaven.
12 (D)Yes, the Lord will give what is good;
And our land will yield its increase.
13 Righteousness will go before Him,
And shall make His footsteps our pathway.

1 Kings 18:17-19

17 Then it happened, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said to him, (A)Is that you, O (B)troubler of Israel?”

18 And he answered, “I have not troubled Israel, but you and your father’s house have, (C)in that you have forsaken the commandments of the Lord and have followed the Baals. 19 Now therefore, send and gather all Israel to me on (D)Mount Carmel, the four hundred and fifty prophets of Baal, (E)and the four hundred prophets of [a]Asherah, who [b]eat at Jezebel’s table.”

1 Kings 18:30-40

30 Then Elijah said to all the people, “Come near to me.” So all the people came near to him. (A)And he repaired the altar of the Lord that was broken down. 31 And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, to whom the word of the Lord had come, saying, (B)“Israel shall be your name.” 32 Then with the stones he built an altar (C)in the name of the Lord; and he made a trench around the altar large enough to hold two seahs of seed. 33 And he (D)put the wood in order, cut the bull in pieces, and laid it on the wood, and said, “Fill four waterpots with water, and (E)pour it on the burnt sacrifice and on the wood.” 34 Then he said, “Do it a second time,” and they did it a second time; and he said, “Do it a third time,” and they did it a third time. 35 So the water ran all around the altar; and he also filled (F)the trench with water.

36 And it came to pass, at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near and said, “Lord (G)God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, (H)let it be known this day that You are God in Israel and I am Your servant, and that (I)I have done all these things at Your word. 37 Hear me, O Lord, hear me, that this people may know that You are the Lord God, and that You have turned their hearts back to You again.”

38 Then (J)the fire of the Lord fell and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood and the stones and the dust, and it licked up the water that was in the trench. 39 Now when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces; and they said, (K)“The Lord, He is God! The Lord, He is God!”

40 And Elijah said to them, (L)“Seize the prophets of Baal! Do not let one of them escape!” So they seized them; and Elijah brought them down to the Brook (M)Kishon and (N)executed them there.

Acts 18:24-28

Ministry of Apollos

24 (A)Now a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man and mighty in the Scriptures, came to Ephesus. 25 This man had been instructed in the way of the Lord; and being (B)fervent in spirit, he spoke and taught accurately the things of the Lord, (C)though he knew only the baptism of John. 26 So he began to speak boldly in the synagogue. When Aquila and Priscilla heard him, they took him aside and explained to him the way of God more accurately. 27 And when he desired to cross to Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him; and when he arrived, (D)he greatly helped those who had believed through grace; 28 for he vigorously refuted the Jews publicly, (E)showing from the Scriptures that Jesus is the Christ.
