Psalm 65:1-8

Praise to God for His Salvation and Providence

To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. A Song.

65 Praise is awaiting You, O God, in Zion;
And to You the [a]vow shall be performed.
O You who hear prayer,
(A)To You all flesh will come.
Iniquities prevail against me;
As for our transgressions,
You will (B)provide atonement for them.

(C)Blessed is the man You (D)choose,
And cause to approach You,
That he may dwell in Your courts.
(E)We shall be satisfied with the goodness of Your house,
Of Your holy temple.

By awesome deeds in righteousness You will answer us,
O God of our salvation,
You who are the confidence of all the ends of the earth,
And of the far-off seas;
Who established the mountains by His strength,
(F)Being clothed with power;
(G)You who still the noise of the seas,
The noise of their waves,
(H)And the tumult of the peoples.
They also who dwell in the farthest parts are afraid of Your signs;
You make the outgoings of the morning and evening [b]rejoice.

Psalm 65:9-13

You [a]visit the earth and (A)water it,
You greatly enrich it;
(B)The river of God is full of water;
You provide their grain,
For so You have prepared it.
10 You water its ridges abundantly,
You settle its furrows;
You make it soft with showers,
You bless its growth.

11 You crown the year with Your goodness,
And Your paths drip with abundance.
12 They drop on the pastures of the wilderness,
And the little hills rejoice on every side.
13 The pastures are clothed with flocks;
(C)The valleys also are covered with grain;
They shout for joy, they also sing.

Isaiah 48:1-5

Israel Refined for God’s Glory

48 “Hear this, O house of Jacob,
Who are called by the name of Israel,
And have come forth from the wellsprings of Judah;
Who swear by the name of the Lord,
And make mention of the God of Israel,
But (A)not in truth or in righteousness;
For they call themselves (B)after the holy city,
And (C)lean on the God of Israel;
The Lord of hosts is His name:

“I have (D)declared the former things from the beginning;
They went forth from My mouth, and I caused them to hear it.
Suddenly I did them, (E)and they came to pass.
Because I knew that you were [a]obstinate,
And (F)your neck was an iron sinew,
And your brow bronze,
Even from the beginning I have declared it to you;
Before it came to pass I proclaimed it to you,
Lest you should say, ‘My idol has done them,
And my carved image and my molded image
Have commanded them.’

Romans 2:12-16

12 For as many as have sinned without law will also perish without law, and as many as have sinned in the law will be judged by the law 13 (for (A)not the hearers of the law are just in the sight of God, but the doers of the law will be justified; 14 for when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do the things in the law, these, although not having the law, are a law to themselves, 15 who show the (B)work of the law written in their hearts, their (C)conscience also bearing witness, and between themselves their thoughts accusing or else excusing them) 16 (D)in the day when God will judge the secrets of men (E)by Jesus Christ, (F)according to my gospel.
