Version
1 Kings 19:15-16

15 And the LORD said unto him, Go, return on thy way by the wilderness of Damascus; and thou shalt arrive there and anoint Hazael to be king over Syria;

16 and Jehu, the son of Nimshi, thou shalt anoint to be king over Israel; and Elisha, the son of Shaphat of Abelmeholah, thou shalt anoint to be prophet in thy place.

1 Kings 19:19-21

19 ¶ So he departed from there and found Elisha, the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he with the twelfth. And Elijah passed by him and cast his mantle upon him.

20 So he left the oxen and ran after Elijah and said, Let me, I pray thee, kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow thee. And he said unto him, Go back again, for what have I done to thee?

21 And he returned back from him and took a yoke of oxen and slew them and boiled their flesh with the instruments of the oxen and gave unto the people and they ate. Then he arose and went after Elijah and served him.

Psalm 16

Michtam of David.

¶ Preserve me, O God: for in thee I have put my trust.

I said unto the LORD, Thou art my goodness: I have no goodness apart from thee;

to the saints that are in the earth and to the excellent: all my delight is towards them.

The sorrows of those that hasten after another god shall be multiplied; their drink offerings of blood I will not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.

The LORD is the portion of my inheritance and of my cup; thou dost maintain my lot.

The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a beautiful inheritance.

I will bless the LORD, who gives me counsel: my kidneys also instruct me in the night seasons.

¶ I have set the LORD always before me: because when he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices: my flesh also shall rest secure.

10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in Sheol; neither wilt thou suffer thy Merciful One to see corruption.

11 Thou wilt show me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; in thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

Galatians 5:1

¶ Stand fast therefore in the liberty with which Christ has made us free and do not be entangled again with the yoke of slavery.

Galatians 5:13-25

13 ¶ For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only do not use liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by charity serve one another.

14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye are not consumed one of another.

16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary the one to the other, so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

18 But if ye are led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these: Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

20 idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

21 envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like; which I denounce, as I have also told you in time past that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is this: Charity, joy, peace, tolerance, gentleness, goodness, faith,

23 meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

24 For those that are of the Christ have crucified the flesh with its affections and lusts.

25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Luke 9:51-62

51 ¶ And it came to pass when the time was come that he should be received up, he steadfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem

52 and sent messengers before his face; and they went and entered into a village of the Samaritans to make ready for him.

53 And they did not receive him because his face was as though he would go to Jerusalem.

54 And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven and consume them, even as Elijah did?

55 But he turned and rebuked them and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.

56 For the Son of man is not come to lose men’s souls, but to save them. And they went to another village.

57 ¶ And it came to pass that as they went in the way, a certain man said unto him, Lord, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.

58 And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the heaven have nests, but the Son of man has not where to lay his head.

59 And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, allow me first to go and bury my father.

60 Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead, but go thou and declare the kingdom of God.

61 And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee, but let me first go bid farewell those who are at home at my house.

62 And Jesus said unto him, No one having put his hand to the plough and looking back is fit for the kingdom of God.
