1 In the year of the death of king Uzziah, [a]I saw also the Lord sitting upon an [b]high throne, and lifted up, and the lower [c]parts thereof filled the Temple.
2 The [d]Seraphims stood upon it, every one had six wings: with twain he covered his [e]face, and with twain he covered his [f]feet, and with twain he did [g]fly.
3 And one cried to another, and said, [h]Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts: the whole [i]world is full of his glory.
4 And the lintels of the door cheeks [j]moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.
5 Then I said, [k]Woe is me: for I am undone, because I am a man of polluted lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of polluted lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, and Lord of hosts.
6 Then flew one of the Seraphims unto me with an hot coal in his hand, which he had taken from the [l]altar with the tongs:
7 And he touched my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips, and thine iniquity shall be taken away, and thy [m]sin shall be purged.
8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send? and who shall go for us? Then I said, Here am I, send me.
9 And he said, Go, and say unto this people, [a]Ye shall hear indeed, but ye shall not understand: ye shall plainly see, and not perceive.
10 Make the heart of this people fat, make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes, lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and he heal them.
11 Then said I, Lord, [b]how long? And he answered, Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land be utterly desolate,
12 And the Lord have removed men far away, and there be a great desolation in the midst of the land.
13 But yet in it shall be [c]a tenth, and shall return, and shall be eaten up as an elm [d]or an oak, which have a substance in them, when they cast their leaves: so the holy seed shall be the substance thereof.
138 1 David with great courage praiseth the goodness of God toward him, the which is so great, 4 That it is known to foreign princes, who shall praise the Lord together with him. 6 And he is assured to have the like comfort of God in the time following, as he had heretofore.
A Psalm of David.
1 I will praise thee with my whole heart: even before the [a]gods will I praise thee.
2 I will worship toward thine holy [b]Temple and praise thy Name, because of thy loving-kindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy Name above all things by thy word.
3 When I called, then thou heardest me, and hast [c]increased strength in my soul.
4 All the [d]kings of the earth shall praise thee, O Lord: for they have heard the words of thy mouth.
5 And they shall sing of the ways of the Lord, because the glory of the Lord is great.
6 For the Lord is high, yet he beholdeth the lowly, but the proud he knoweth [e]afar off.
7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, yet wilt thou revive me: thou wilt stretch forth thine hand upon the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me.
8 The Lord will [f]perform his work toward me: O Lord, thy mercy endureth forever: forsake not the works of thine hands.

1 Moreover (A)[a]brethren, I declare unto you the Gospel which I preached unto you, which ye have also received, and wherein ye [b]continue,
2 And whereby ye are saved, if ye keep in memory, after what manner I preached it unto you, [c]except ye have believed in vain.
3 For first of all, I delivered unto you that which I received, how that Christ died for our sins, according to the (B)Scriptures,
4 And that he was buried, and that he arose the third day, according to the (C)Scriptures,
5 (D)And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the [d]twelve.
6 After that, he was seen of more than five hundred brethren at [e]once: whereof many remain unto this present, and some also are asleep.
7 After that, he was seen of James: then of all the Apostles.
8 (E)[f]And last of all he was seen also of me, as of one born out of due time.
9 (F)For I am the least of the Apostles, which am not meet to be called an Apostle, because I persecuted the Church of God.
10 (G)But by the grace of God I am that I am: and his grace which is in me, was not in vain: but I labored more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which is with me.
11 Wherefore, whether it were I, or they, so we preach, and so have ye believed.

1 Then (A)[a]it came to pass, as the people [b]pressed upon him to hear the word of God, that he stood by the lake of Gennesaret,
2 And saw two ships stand by the lakeside, but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets.
3 And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon’s, and required him that he would thrust off a little from the land: and he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship.
4 ¶ Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets to make a draught.
5 Then Simon answered, and said unto him, [c]Master, we have travailed sore all night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.
6 And when they had so done, they enclosed a great multitude of fishes, so that their net brake.
7 And they beckoned to their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them, who came then, and filled both the ships, that they did sink.
8 Now when Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus knees, saying, Lord, go from me: for I am a sinful man.
9 For he was utterly astonied, and all that were with him, for the draught of fishes which they took.
10 And so was also James and John the sons of Zebedee, which were companions with Simon. Then Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not: from henceforth thou shalt catch men.
11 And when they had brought the ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him.
