Deuteronomy 6:1-9

Obey God and Prosper

“Now this is the commandment, the statutes, and the judgments which the Lord your God has commanded me to teach you, so that you may do them in the land where you are going over to take possession of it, so that you, your son, and your grandson will (A)fear the Lord your God, to keep all His statutes and His commandments which I command you, (B)all the days of your life, and that your days may be prolonged. Now Israel, you shall listen and be careful to do them, so that (C)it may go well for you and that you may increase greatly, just as the Lord, the God of your fathers, has [a]promised you, in (D)a land flowing with milk and honey.

(E)Hear, Israel! The Lord is our God, the (F)Lord is one! And (G)you shall love the Lord your God (H)with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. (I)These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. And (J)you shall repeat them diligently to your sons and speak of them when you sit in your house, when you walk on the road, when you lie down, and when you get up. (K)You shall also tie them as a [b]sign to your [c]hand, and they shall be as [d]frontlets [e]on your forehead. (L)You shall also write them on the [f]doorposts of your house and on your gates.

Psalm 119:1-8

Meditations and Prayers Relating to the Law of God.

Aleph

119 Blessed are those whose way is [a](A)blameless,
Who (B)walk in the Law of the Lord.
Blessed are those who (C)comply with His [b]testimonies,
And (D)seek Him (E)with all their heart.
They also (F)do no injustice;
They walk in His ways.
You have [c](G)ordained Your precepts,
[d]That we are to keep them diligently.
Oh that my (H)ways may be established
To (I)keep Your statutes!
Then I (J)will not be ashamed
When I look at all Your commandments.
I will (K)give thanks to You with uprightness of heart,
When I learn Your righteous judgments.
I will keep Your statutes;
Do not utterly (L)abandon me!

Hebrews 9:11-14

11 But when Christ appeared as a (A)high priest of the (B)good things [a]having come, He entered through (C)the greater and more perfect [b]tabernacle, (D)not made by hands, that is, (E)not of this creation; 12 and not through (F)the blood of goats and calves, but (G)through His own blood, He (H)entered the holy place (I)once for all time, [c]having obtained (J)eternal redemption. 13 For if (K)the blood of goats and bulls, and (L)the [d]ashes of a heifer sprinkling those who have been defiled, sanctify for the [e]cleansing of the flesh, 14 how much more will (M)the blood of Christ, who through [f](N)the eternal Spirit (O)offered Himself without blemish to God, (P)cleanse your conscience from (Q)dead works to serve (R)the living God?

Mark 12:28-34

28 (A)One of the scribes came up and heard them arguing, and (B)recognizing that He had answered them well, asked Him, “What commandment is the [a]foremost of all?” 29 Jesus answered, “The [b]foremost is, ‘(C)Hear, Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord is one; 30 (D)and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this: ‘(E)You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” 32 And the scribe said to Him, “Well said, Teacher; You have truly stated that (F)He is One, and there is no other besides Him; 33 (G)and to love Him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbor as oneself, (H)is much more than all the burnt offerings and sacrifices.” 34 When Jesus saw that he had answered intelligently, He said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” (I)And then, no one dared any longer to question Him.
