New English Translation (NET)
Version
Psalm 78:23-29

23 He gave a command to the clouds above,
and opened the doors in the sky.
24 He rained down manna for them to eat;
he gave them the grain of heaven.[a]
25 Man ate the food of the mighty ones.[b]
He sent them more than enough to eat.[c]
26 He brought the east wind through the sky,
and by his strength led forth the south wind.
27 He rained down meat on them like dust,
birds as numerous as the sand on the seashores.[d]
28 He caused them to fall right in the middle of their camp,
all around their homes.
29 They ate until they were beyond full;[e]
he gave them what they desired.

Exodus 13:3-10

Moses said to the people, “Remember[a] this day on which you came out from Egypt, from the place where you were enslaved,[b] for the Lord brought you out of there[c] with a mighty hand—and no bread made with yeast may be eaten.[d] On this day,[e] in the month of Abib,[f] you are going out.[g]

“When[h] the Lord brings you to the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Hivites, and Jebusites, which he swore to your fathers to give you, a land flowing with milk and honey,[i] then you will keep[j] this ceremony[k] in this month. For seven days[l] you must eat[m] bread made without yeast, and on the seventh day there is to be[n] a festival to the Lord. Bread made without yeast must be eaten[o] for seven days;[p] no bread made with yeast shall be seen[q] among you, and you must have no yeast among you within any of your borders.

“You are to tell your son[r] on that day,[s] ‘It is[t] because of what[u] the Lord did for me when I came out of Egypt.’ [v] It[w] will be a sign[x] for you on your hand and a memorial[y] on your forehead,[z] so that the law of the Lord may be[aa] in your mouth,[ab] for[ac] with a mighty hand the Lord brought you out of Egypt. 10 So you must keep[ad] this ordinance at its appointed time from year to year.[ae]

Matthew 16:5-12

The Yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees

When the disciples went to the other side, they forgot to take bread. “Watch out,” Jesus said to them, “beware of the yeast of the Pharisees[a] and Sadducees.”[b] So[c] they began to discuss this among themselves, saying, “It is because we brought no bread.” When Jesus learned of this,[d] he said, “You who have such little faith! Why are you arguing[e] among yourselves about having no bread? Do you still not understand? Don’t you remember the five loaves for the 5,000, and how many baskets you took up? 10 Or the seven loaves for the 4,000 and how many baskets you took up? 11 How could you not understand that I was not speaking to you about bread? But beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees!” 12 Then they understood that he had not told them to be on guard against the yeast in bread, but against the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
