Version
Psalm 100

Psalm 100[a]

A thanksgiving psalm.

100 Shout out praises to the Lord, all the earth!
Worship[b] the Lord with joy.
Enter his presence with joyful singing.
Acknowledge that the Lord is God.
He made us and we belong to him,[c]
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
and his courts with praise.
Give him thanks.
Praise his name.
For the Lord is good.
His loyal love endures,[d]
and he is faithful through all generations.[e]

Jeremiah 50:1-7

Judgment Against Babylon

50 The Lord spoke concerning Babylon and the land of Babylonia[a] through the prophet Jeremiah.[b]

“Announce[c] the news among the nations! Proclaim it!
Signal for people to pay attention.[d]
Declare the news! Do not hide it! Say:
‘Babylon will be captured.
Bel[e] will be put to shame.
Marduk will be dismayed.
Babylon’s idols will be put to shame;
her disgusting images[f] will be dismayed.[g]
For a nation from the north[h] will attack Babylon;
it will lay her land waste.
People and animals will flee out of it.
No one will inhabit it.’
“When that time comes,” says the Lord,[i]

“the people of Israel and Judah will return to the land together.
They will come back with tears of repentance
as they seek the Lord their God.[j]
They will ask the way to Zion;
they will turn their faces toward it.
They will come[k] and bind themselves to the Lord
in a lasting covenant that will never be forgotten.[l]
“My people have been lost sheep.

Their shepherds[m] have allowed them to go astray.
They have wandered around in the mountains.
They have roamed from one mountain and hill to another.[n]
They have forgotten their resting place.
All who encountered them devoured them.
Their enemies who did this said, ‘We are not liable for punishment!
For those people have sinned against the Lord, their true pasture.[o]
They have sinned against the Lord in whom their ancestors[p] trusted.’[q]

Hebrews 13:17-25

17 Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over your souls and will give an account for their work.[a] Let them do this[b] with joy and not with complaints, for this would be no advantage for you. 18 Pray for us, for we are sure that we have a clear conscience and desire to conduct ourselves rightly in every respect. 19 I especially ask you to pray[c] that I may be restored to you very soon.

Benediction and Conclusion

20 Now may the God of peace who by the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead the great shepherd of the sheep, our Lord Jesus, 21 equip you with every good thing to do his will, working in us[d] what is pleasing before him through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever.[e] Amen.

22 Now I urge you, brothers and sisters,[f] bear with my message of exhortation, for in fact I have written to you briefly. 23 You should know that[g] our brother Timothy has been released. If he comes soon, he will be with me when I see you.[h] 24 Greetings to all your leaders and all the saints. Those from Italy send you greetings. 25 Grace be with you all.[i]
