New English Translation (NET)
Version
Psalm 102:12-28

12 But you, O Lord, rule forever,[a]
and your reputation endures.[b]
13 You will rise up and have compassion on Zion.[c]
For it is time to have mercy on her,
for the appointed time has come.
14 Indeed,[d] your servants take delight in her stones,
and feel compassion for[e] the dust of her ruins.[f]
15 The nations will respect the reputation of the Lord,[g]
and all the kings of the earth will respect[h] his splendor,
16 when the Lord rebuilds Zion,
and reveals his splendor,
17 when he responds to the prayer of the destitute,[i]
and does not reject[j] their request.[k]
18 The account of his intervention[l] will be recorded for future generations;
people yet to be born[m] will praise the Lord.
19 For he will look down from his sanctuary above;[n]
from heaven the Lord will look toward earth,[o]
20 in order to hear the painful cries of the prisoners,
and to set free those condemned to die,[p]
21 so they may proclaim the name of the Lord in Zion,
and praise him[q] in Jerusalem,
22 when the nations gather together,
and the kingdoms pay tribute to the Lord.[r]
23 He has taken away my strength in the middle of life;[s]
he has cut short my days.
24 I say, “O my God, please do not take me away in the middle of my life.[t]
You endure through all generations.[u]
25 In earlier times you established the earth;
the skies are your handiwork.
26 They will perish,
but you will endure.[v]
They will wear out like a garment;
like clothes you will remove them and they will disappear.[w]
27 But you remain;[x]
your years do not come to an end.
28 The children of your servants will settle down here,
and their descendants[y] will live securely in your presence.”[z]

2 Kings 8:1-6

Elisha Again Helps the Shunammite Woman

Now Elisha advised the woman whose son he had brought back to life, “You and your family should go and live somewhere else for a while,[a] for the Lord has decreed that a famine will overtake the land for seven years.” So the woman did as the prophet said.[b] She and her family went and lived in the land of the Philistines for seven years. After seven years the woman returned from the land of the Philistines and went to ask the king to give her back her house and field.[c] Now the king was talking to Gehazi, the prophet’s[d] servant, and said, “Tell me all the great things that Elisha has done.” While Gehazi[e] was telling the king how Elisha[f] had brought the dead back to life, the woman whose son he had brought back to life came to ask the king for her house and field.[g] Gehazi said, “My master, O king, this is the very woman, and this is her son whom Elisha brought back to life!” The king asked the woman about it, and she gave him the details.[h] The king assigned a eunuch to take care of her request and ordered him,[i] “Give her back everything she owns, as well as the amount of crops her field produced from the day she left the land until now.”

Acts 15:36-41

Paul and Barnabas Part Company

36 After some days Paul said to Barnabas, “Let’s return[a] and visit the brothers in every town where we proclaimed the word of the Lord[b] to see how they are doing.”[c] 37 Barnabas wanted to bring John called Mark along with them too, 38 but Paul insisted[d] that they should not take along this one who had left them in Pamphylia[e] and had not accompanied them in the work. 39 They had[f] a sharp disagreement,[g] so that they parted company. Barnabas took along[h] Mark and sailed away to Cyprus,[i] 40 but Paul chose Silas and set out, commended[j] to the grace of the Lord by the brothers and sisters.[k] 41 He passed through Syria and Cilicia, strengthening[l] the churches.
