New English Translation (NET)
Version
Psalm 102:12-28

12 But you, O Lord, rule forever,[a]
and your reputation endures.[b]
13 You will rise up and have compassion on Zion.[c]
For it is time to have mercy on her,
for the appointed time has come.
14 Indeed,[d] your servants take delight in her stones,
and feel compassion for[e] the dust of her ruins.[f]
15 The nations will respect the reputation of the Lord,[g]
and all the kings of the earth will respect[h] his splendor,
16 when the Lord rebuilds Zion,
and reveals his splendor,
17 when he responds to the prayer of the destitute,[i]
and does not reject[j] their request.[k]
18 The account of his intervention[l] will be recorded for future generations;
people yet to be born[m] will praise the Lord.
19 For he will look down from his sanctuary above;[n]
from heaven the Lord will look toward earth,[o]
20 in order to hear the painful cries of the prisoners,
and to set free those condemned to die,[p]
21 so they may proclaim the name of the Lord in Zion,
and praise him[q] in Jerusalem,
22 when the nations gather together,
and the kingdoms pay tribute to the Lord.[r]
23 He has taken away my strength in the middle of life;[s]
he has cut short my days.
24 I say, “O my God, please do not take me away in the middle of my life.[t]
You endure through all generations.[u]
25 In earlier times you established the earth;
the skies are your handiwork.
26 They will perish,
but you will endure.[v]
They will wear out like a garment;
like clothes you will remove them and they will disappear.[w]
27 But you remain;[x]
your years do not come to an end.
28 The children of your servants will settle down here,
and their descendants[y] will live securely in your presence.”[z]

2 Kings 4:8-17

Elisha Gives Life to a Boy

One day Elisha traveled to Shunem, where a prominent[a] woman lived. She insisted that he stop for a meal.[b] So whenever he was passing through, he would stop in there for a meal.[c] She said to her husband, “Look, I’m sure[d] that the man who regularly passes through here is a very special prophet.[e] 10 Let’s make a small, private upper room[f] and furnish it with[g] a bed, table, chair, and lamp. When he visits us, he can stay there.”

11 One day Elisha[h] came for a visit; he went[i] into the upper room and rested.[j] 12 He told his servant Gehazi, “Ask the Shunammite woman to come here.”[k] So he did so and she came to him.[l] 13 Elisha said to Gehazi,[m] “Tell her, ‘Look, you have treated us with such great respect.[n] What can I do for you? Can I put in a good word for you with the king or the commander of the army?’” She replied, “I’m quite secure.”[o] 14 So he asked Gehazi,[p] “What can I do for her?” Gehazi replied, “She has no son, and her husband is old.” 15 Elisha told him, “Ask her to come here.”[q] So he did so[r] and she came and stood in the doorway.[s] 16 He said, “About this time next year[t] you will be holding a son.” She said, “No, my master! O prophet, do not lie to your servant!” 17 The woman did conceive, and at the specified time the next year she gave birth to a son, just as Elisha had told her.

2 Kings 4:32-37

32 When Elisha arrived at the house, there was[a] the child lying dead on his bed. 33 He went in by himself and closed the door.[b] Then he prayed to the Lord. 34 He got up on the bed and spread his body out over[c] the boy; he put his mouth on the boy’s[d] mouth, his eyes over the boy’s eyes, and the palms of his hands against the boy’s palms. As he bent down across him, the boy’s skin[e] grew warm. 35 Elisha[f] went back and walked around in the house.[g] Then he got up on the bed again[h] and bent down over him. The child sneezed seven times and opened his eyes. 36 Elisha[i] called to Gehazi and said, “Get the Shunammite woman.” So he did so[j] and she came to him. He said to her, “Take your son.” 37 She came in, fell at his feet, and bowed down. Then she picked up her son and left.

Acts 14:1-7

Paul and Barnabas at Iconium

14 The same thing happened in Iconium[a] when Paul and Barnabas[b] went into the Jewish synagogue[c] and spoke in such a way that a large group[d] of both Jews and Greeks believed. But the Jews who refused to believe[e] stirred up the Gentiles and poisoned their minds[f] against the brothers. So they stayed there[g] for a considerable time, speaking out courageously for the Lord, who testified[h] to the message[i] of his grace, granting miraculous signs[j] and wonders to be performed through their hands. But the population[k] of the city was divided; some[l] sided with the Jews, and some with the apostles. When both the Gentiles and the Jews (together with their rulers) made[m] an attempt to mistreat[n] them and stone them,[o] Paul and Barnabas[p] learned about it[q] and fled to the Lycaonian cities of Lystra[r] and Derbe[s] and the surrounding region. There[t] they continued to proclaim[u] the good news.
