Psalm 111

Great Are the Lord's Works

111 [a] (A)Praise the Lord!
I (B)will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart,
    in the company of (C)the upright, in the congregation.
Great are the (D)works of the Lord,
    (E)studied by all who delight in them.
(F)Full of splendour and majesty is his work,
    and his (G)righteousness endures for ever.
He has (H)caused his wondrous works to be remembered;
    the Lord is gracious and merciful.
He provides food for those who fear him;
    he (I)remembers his covenant for ever.
He has shown his people the power of his works,
    in giving them the inheritance of the nations.
The works of his hands are faithful and just;
    all his precepts are (J)trustworthy;
they are (K)established for ever and ever,
    to be performed with (L)faithfulness and uprightness.
He sent (M)redemption to his people;
    he has (N)commanded his covenant for ever.
    (O)Holy and awesome is his name!
10 (P)The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
    all those who practise it have (Q)a good understanding.
    His (R)praise endures for ever!

Deuteronomy 12:28-32

28 Be careful to obey all these words that I command you, (A)that it may go well with you and with your children after you for ever, when you do what is good and right in the sight of the Lord your God.

Warning Against Idolatry

29 “When (B)the Lord your God cuts off before you the nations whom you go in to dispossess, and you dispossess them and dwell in their land, 30 take care (C)that you are not ensnared to follow them, after they have been destroyed before you, and that you do not enquire about their gods, saying, ‘How did these nations serve their gods?—that I also may do the same.’ 31 (D)You shall not worship the Lord your God in that way, for every (E)abominable thing that the Lord hates they have done for their gods, for (F)they even burn their sons and their daughters in the fire to their gods.

32 [a] “Everything that I command you, you shall be careful to do. (G)You shall not add to it or take from it.

Revelation 2:12-17

To the Church in Pergamum

12 “And to the angel of the church in Pergamum write: ‘The words of him who has (A)the sharp two-edged sword.

13 “‘I know where you dwell, (B)where Satan's throne is. Yet you hold fast my name, and you did not (C)deny my faith[a] even in the days of Antipas (D)my faithful witness, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells. 14 But I have a few things against you: you have some there who hold the teaching of (E)Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the sons of Israel, so that they might (F)eat food sacrificed to idols and (G)practise sexual immorality. 15 So also you have some who hold the teaching of (H)the Nicolaitans. 16 Therefore repent. If not, (I)I will come to you soon and (J)war against them with (K)the sword of my mouth. 17 (L)He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. (M)To the one who conquers I will give some of (N)the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, with (O)a new name written on the stone (P)that no one knows except the one who receives it.’
