Psalm 96:1-9

A Call to Worship the Lord the Righteous Judge.

96 (A)Sing to the Lord a (B)new song;
Sing to the Lord, all the earth.
Sing to the Lord, bless His name;
(C)Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day.
Tell of (D)His glory among the nations,
His wonderful deeds among all the peoples.
For (E)great is the Lord, and (F)greatly to be praised;
He is to be (G)feared (H)above all gods.
For (I)all the gods of the peoples are [a]idols,
But (J)the Lord made the heavens.
(K)Splendor and majesty are before Him,
Strength and beauty are in His sanctuary.

[b]Ascribe to the Lord, you (L)families of the peoples,
[c](M)Ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
[d]Ascribe to the Lord the (N)glory of His name;
Bring an [e](O)offering and come into His courtyards.
(P)Worship the Lord in [f]holy attire;
(Q)Tremble before Him, all the earth.

Psalm 96:10-13

10 Say among the nations, “(A)The Lord reigns;
Indeed, the (B)world is firmly established, it will not be moved;
He will (C)judge the peoples fairly.”

11 May the (D)heavens be joyful, and may the (E)earth rejoice;
May (F)the sea [a]roar, and [b]all it contains;
12 May the (G)field be jubilant, and all that is in it.
Then all the (H)trees of the forest will sing for joy
13 Before the Lord, (I)for He is coming,
For He is coming to judge the earth.
(J)He will judge the world in righteousness,
And the peoples in His faithfulness.

Judges 17:1-6

Micah’s Idolatry

17 Now there was a man of the hill country of Ephraim whose name was Micah. And he said to his mother, “The 1,100 pieces of silver that were taken from you, about which you uttered a curse and also spoke it in my hearing, behold, the silver is with me; I took it.” And his mother said, “Blessed be my son by the Lord.” He then returned the 1,100 pieces of silver to his mother, and his mother said, “I wholly consecrate the silver from my hand to the Lord for my son (A)to make a carved image and a cast metal image; so now I will return [a]them to you.” So when he returned the silver to his mother, his mother took two hundred pieces of silver and gave them to the silversmith, who made [b]them into a carved image and a cast metal image, and [c]they were in the house of Micah. And the man Micah had a [d](B)shrine and he made an (C)ephod and [e](D)household idols, and [f]consecrated one of his sons, (E)so that he might become his priest. In those days (F)there was no king in Israel; (G)everyone did what was right in his own eyes.

3 John 9-12

I wrote something to the church; but Diotrephes, who loves to (A)be first among them, does not accept [a]what we say. 10 For this reason, (B)if I come, I will call attention to his deeds which he does, unjustly accusing us with malicious words; and not satisfied with this, he himself does not (C)receive the (D)brothers either, and he forbids those who want to do so and (E)puts them out of the church.

11 Beloved, (F)do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. (G)The one who does what is good is of God; (H)the one who does what is evil has not seen God. 12 Demetrius (I)has received a good testimony from everyone, and from the truth itself; and we testify too, and (J)you know that our testimony is true.
