Psalm 80:7-15

(A)Restore us, O God of hosts;
    let your face shine, that we may be saved!
You brought (B)a vine out of Egypt;
    you (C)drove out the nations and planted it.
You (D)cleared the ground for it;
    it took deep root and filled the land.
10 The mountains were covered with its shade,
    the mighty cedars with its branches.
11 It sent out its branches to (E)the sea
    and its shoots to (F)the River.[a]
12 Why then have you (G)broken down its walls,
    so that all who pass along the way pluck its fruit?
13 (H)The boar from the forest ravages it,
    and all that move in the field feed on it.
14 Turn again, O God of hosts!
    (I)Look down from heaven, and see;
have regard for this vine,
15     the stock that your right hand planted,
    and for the son whom you made strong for yourself.

Jeremiah 2:23-37

23 (A)How can you say, ‘I am not unclean,
    I have not gone after the Baals’?
Look at your way (B)in the valley;
    know what you have done—
a restless young camel running here and there,
24     (C)a wild donkey used to the wilderness,
in her heat sniffing the wind!
    Who can restrain her lust?
None who seek her need weary themselves;
    in her month they will find her.
25 Keep (D)your feet from going unshod
    and (E)your throat from thirst.
But you said, ‘It is hopeless,
    (F)for I have loved foreigners,
    and after them I will go.’
26 “As a thief is shamed when caught,
    so the house of Israel shall be shamed:
(G)they, their kings, their officials,
    their priests, and their prophets,
27 who say to a tree, ‘You are my father’,
    and to a stone, ‘You gave me birth.’
For they have turned their back to me,
    and not their face.
But (H)in the time of their trouble they say,
    ‘Arise and save us!’
28 But (I)where are your gods
    that you made for yourself?
Let them arise, (J)if they can save you,
    in your time of trouble;
for (K)as many as your cities
    are your gods, O Judah.
29 “Why do you contend with me?
    You have all transgressed against me,
declares the Lord.
30 In vain have I (L)struck your children;
    they took no correction;
(M)your own sword devoured your prophets
    like a ravening lion.
31 And you, O generation, behold the word of the Lord.
Have I been a wilderness to Israel,
    or a land of thick darkness?
Why then do my people say, ‘We are free,
    we will come no more to you’?
32 (N)Can a virgin forget her ornaments,
    or a bride her attire?
Yet (O)my people have forgotten me
    days without number.
33 “How well you direct your course
    to seek love!
So that even to wicked women
    you have taught your ways.
34 Also on your skirts is found
    (P)the lifeblood of the guiltless poor;
you did not find them (Q)breaking in.
    Yet in spite of all these things
35 you say, ‘I am innocent;
    surely his anger has turned from me.’
(R)Behold, I will bring you to judgement
    for (S)saying, ‘I have not sinned.’
36 (T)How much you go about,
    changing your way!
You shall be (U)put to shame by Egypt
    as you were put to shame by Assyria.
37 From it too you will come away
    with (V)your hands on your head,
for the Lord has rejected those in whom you trust,
    and you will not prosper by them.

Philippians 2:14-18

14 Do all things (A)without grumbling or (B)questioning, 15 that you may be blameless and innocent, (C)children of God (D)without blemish (E)in the midst of (F)a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine (G)as lights in the world, 16 holding fast to (H)the word of life, so that in (I)the day of Christ (J)I may be proud that (K)I did not run in vain or labour in vain. 17 Even if I am to be (L)poured out as a drink offering upon (M)the sacrificial offering of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all. 18 Likewise you also should be glad and rejoice with me.

Philippians 3:1-4

Righteousness Through Faith in Christ

Finally, my brothers,[a] (A)rejoice in the Lord. (B)To write the same things to you is no trouble to me and is safe for you.

Look out for (C)the dogs, look out for (D)the evildoers, look out for those who mutilate the flesh. For (E)we are the circumcision, (F)who worship (G)by the Spirit of God[b] and (H)glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh— (I)though I myself have reason for confidence in the flesh also. If anyone else thinks he has reason for confidence in the flesh, I have more:
