Psalm 145:1-8

The Lord Exalted for His Goodness.

A Psalm of Praise, of David.

145 I will (A)exalt You, (B)my God, the King,
And I will (C)bless Your name forever and ever.
Every day I will bless You,
And I will (D)praise Your name forever and ever.
(E)Great is the Lord, and highly to be praised;
And His (F)greatness is unsearchable.
One (G)generation will praise Your works to another,
And will declare Your mighty acts.
On the (H)glorious [a]splendor of Your majesty
And (I)on Your wonderful works, I will meditate.
People will speak of the [b]power of Your (J)awesome acts,
And I will (K)tell of Your greatness.
They will burst forth [c]in speaking of Your (L)abundant goodness,
And will (M)shout joyfully of Your righteousness.

The Lord is (N)gracious and compassionate;
Slow to anger and great in mercy.

Nahum 2:3-13

The shields of [a]his warriors are dyed red,
The warriors are dressed in (A)scarlet,
The chariots are fitted with [b]flashing steel
[c]When he is prepared to march,
And the juniper (B)spears are brandished.
The (C)chariots drive wildly in the streets,
They rush around in the [d]public squares;
Their appearance is like torches,
They drive back and forth like lightning flashes.
He remembers his (D)officers;
They (E)stumble in their advance,
They hurry to her wall,
And the [e]mantelet is set up.
The gates of the rivers are opened
And the palace sways back and forth.
It is set:
She is stripped, she is led away,
And her slave women are (F)sobbing like the sound of doves,
(G)Beating their [f]breasts.

Though Nineveh was like a pool of water throughout her days,
Yet they are fleeing;
“Stop, stop,”
But (H)no one turns back.
Plunder the silver,
Plunder the (I)gold!
For there is no end to the treasure—
Wealth from every kind of desirable object.
10 She is (J)emptied! Yes, she is desolate and waste!
(K)Hearts are melting and knees wobbling!
Also trembling is in [g]the entire body,
And all their (L)faces have become pale!
11 Where is the den of the lions
And the feeding place of the (M)young lions,
Where the lion, lioness, and lion’s cub went
With nothing to disturb them?
12 The lion tore enough for his cubs,
[h]Killed enough prey for his lionesses,
And filled his lairs with prey
And his dens with torn flesh.

13 “Behold, (N)I am against you,” declares the Lord of armies. “I will (O)burn up her chariots in smoke, and a sword will devour your young lions; I will (P)eliminate your prey from the land, and no longer will the voice of your messengers be heard.”

2 Corinthians 13:5-10

(A)Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; (B)examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you—unless indeed you [a](C)fail the test? But I expect that you will realize that we ourselves [b]do not fail the test. Now we pray to God that you do nothing wrong; not so that we ourselves may appear approved, but that you may do what is right, though we may [c]appear unapproved. For we cannot do anything against the truth, but only for the truth. For we rejoice when we ourselves are (D)weak, but you are strong; this we also pray for, [d]that you (E)become mature. 10 For this reason I am writing these things while absent, so that when present (F)I need not use (G)severity, in accordance with the (H)authority which the Lord gave me for building up and not for tearing down.
