Version
Psalm 145:8-14

The Lord is (A)gracious and compassionate;
Slow to anger and great in mercy.
The Lord is (B)good to all,
And His (C)mercies are over all His works.
10 (D)All Your works will give thanks to You, Lord,
And Your (E)godly ones will bless You.
11 They will speak of the (F)glory of Your kingdom,
And talk of Your might,
12 To (G)make known to the sons of mankind [a]Your mighty acts,
And the (H)glory of the majesty of [b]Your kingdom.
13 Your kingdom is [c]an (I)everlasting kingdom,
And Your dominion endures throughout all generations.
[d]The Lord is faithful in His words,
And holy in all His works.

14 The Lord (J)supports all who fall,
And (K)raises up all who are bowed down.

Zechariah 2:6-13

[a]You there! (A)Flee from the land of the north,” declares the Lord, “because I have (B)spread you out like the four winds of the heavens,” declares the Lord. [b]You, Zion! (C)Escape, you who are living with the daughter of Babylon.” For the Lord of armies says this: “After (D)glory He has sent me against the nations that plunder you, for the one who touches you, touches the [c](E)apple of His eye. For behold, I am going to (F)wave My hand over them so that they will be (G)plunder for their slaves. Then you will know that the Lord of armies has sent Me. 10 (H)Shout for joy and rejoice, daughter of Zion; for behold I am coming and I will (I)dwell in your midst,” declares the Lord. 11 “And (J)many nations will join themselves to the Lord on that day and will become My people. Then I will (K)dwell in your midst, and you will (L)know that the Lord of armies has sent Me to you. 12 And the Lord will [d](M)possess Judah as His portion in the holy land, and will again (N)choose Jerusalem.

13 [e](O)Be silent, all [f]mankind, before the Lord; for He has (P)roused Himself from His holy dwelling.”

Romans 7:7-20

(A)What shall we say then? Is the Law sin? (B)[a]Far from it! On the contrary, (C)I would not have come to know sin except [b]through the Law; for I would not have known about [c]coveting if the Law had not said, “(D)You shall not [d]covet.” But sin, (E)taking an opportunity (F)through the commandment, produced in me [e]coveting of every kind; for (G)apart [f]from the Law sin is dead. I was once alive apart [g]from the Law; but when the commandment came, sin came to life, and I died; 10 and this commandment, which was [h](H)to result in life, proved [i]to result in death for me; 11 for sin, (I)taking an opportunity (J)through the commandment, (K)deceived me, and through it, killed me. 12 (L)So then, the Law is holy, and the commandment is holy and righteous and good.

13 Therefore did that which is good become a cause of death for me? [j](M)Far from it! Rather it was sin, in order that it might be shown to be sin by bringing about my death through that which is good, so that through the commandment sin would become utterly sinful.

The Conflict of Serving Two Masters

14 For we know that the Law is (N)spiritual, but I am (O)fleshly, (P)sold [k](Q)into bondage to sin. 15 For (R)I do not understand what I am doing; for I am not practicing (S)what I want to do, but I do the very thing I hate. 16 However, if I do the very thing I do not want to do, I agree with (T)the Law, that the Law is good. 17 But now, (U)no longer am I the one doing it, but sin that dwells in me. 18 For I know that good does not dwell in me, that is, in my (V)flesh; for the willing is present in me, but the doing of the good is not. 19 For (W)the good that I want, I do not do, but I practice the very evil that I do not want. 20 But if I do the very thing I do not want, (X)I am no longer the one doing it, but sin that dwells in me.
