Psalm 89:1-4

I Will Sing of the Steadfast Love of the Lord

A Maskil[a] of (A)Ethan the Ezrahite.

89 (B)I will sing of (C)the steadfast love of the Lord, for ever;
    with my mouth I will make known your (D)faithfulness to all generations.
For I said, (E)“Steadfast love will be built up for ever;
    in the heavens (F)you will establish your (G)faithfulness.”
You have said, “I have made (H)a covenant with my (I)chosen one;
    I have (J)sworn to David my servant:
‘I will establish your (K)offspring for ever,
    and build your (L)throne for all generations.’” Selah

Psalm 89:15-18

15 Blessed are the people who know (A)the festal shout,
    who walk, O Lord, in (B)the light of your face,
16 who exult in your (C)name all the day
    and in your righteousness are (D)exalted.
17 For you are (E)the glory of their strength;
    by your favour our (F)horn is exalted.
18 For our (G)shield belongs to the Lord,
    our king to (H)the Holy One of Israel.

Jeremiah 25:1-7

Seventy Years of Captivity

25 (A)The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah (that was the first year of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon), which Jeremiah the prophet spoke to all the people of Judah and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem: “For twenty-three years, (B)from the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, to this day, the word of the Lord has come to me, and I have spoken (C)persistently to you, (D)but you have not listened. (E)You have neither listened nor inclined your ears to hear, although the Lord (F)persistently sent to you all his servants the prophets, saying, (G)‘Turn now, every one of you, (H)from his evil way and evil deeds, and (I)dwell upon the land that the Lord has given to you and your fathers from of old and for ever. (J)Do not go after other gods to serve and worship them, (K)or provoke me to anger (L)with the work of your hands. Then I will do you no harm.’ (M)Yet you have not listened to me, declares the Lord, (N)that you might provoke me to anger (O)with the work of your hands to your own harm.

Galatians 5:2-6

Look: I, Paul, say to you that (A)if you accept circumcision, (B)Christ will be of no advantage to you. I testify again to every man who accepts circumcision that (C)he is obligated to keep the whole law. You are (D)severed from Christ, (E)you who would be justified[a] by the law; (F)you have fallen away from grace. For through the Spirit, by faith, we ourselves eagerly (G)wait for the hope of righteousness. For in Christ Jesus (H)neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but (I)only faith working through love.
