Psalm 100

Psalm 100[a]

A thanksgiving psalm.

100 Shout out praises to the Lord, all the earth!
Worship[b] the Lord with joy.
Enter his presence with joyful singing.
Acknowledge that the Lord is God.
He made us and we belong to him,[c]
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
and his courts with praise.
Give him thanks.
Praise his name.
For the Lord is good.
His loyal love endures,[d]
and he is faithful through all generations.[e]

Exodus 4:18-23

The Return of Moses

18 [a] So Moses went back[b] to his father-in-law Jethro and said to him, “Let me go, so that I may return[c] to my relatives[d] in Egypt and see[e] if they are still alive.” Jethro said to Moses, “Go in peace.” 19 The Lord said to Moses in Midian, “Go back[f] to Egypt, because all the men who were seeking your life are dead.”[g] 20 Then Moses took[h] his wife and sons[i] and put them on a donkey and headed back[j] to the land of Egypt, and Moses took the staff of God in his hand. 21 The Lord said to Moses, “When you go back to Egypt,[k] see that you[l] do before Pharaoh all the wonders I have put under your control.[m] But I will harden[n] his heart[o] and[p] he will not let the people go. 22 You must say to Pharaoh, ‘This is what the Lord has said, “Israel is my son, my firstborn,[q] 23 and I said to you, ‘Let my son go that he may serve[r] me,’ but since you have refused to let him go,[s] I will surely kill[t] your son, your firstborn!”’”

Hebrews 3:1-6

Jesus and Moses

Therefore, holy brothers and sisters,[a] partners in a heavenly calling, take note of Jesus, the apostle and high priest whom we confess,[b] who is faithful to the one who appointed him, as Moses was also in God’s[c] house.[d] For he has come to deserve greater glory than Moses, just as the builder of a house deserves greater honor than the house itself! For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God. Now Moses was faithful in all God’s[e] house[f] as a servant, to testify to the things that would be spoken. But Christ[g] is faithful as a son over God’s[h] house. We are of his house,[i] if in fact we hold firmly[j] to our confidence and the hope we take pride in.[k]
