Version
Psalm 31:9-16

Be gracious to me, Lord, for (A)I am in distress;
My (B)eye is wasted away from grief, (C)my soul and my body too.
10 For my life is spent with (D)sorrow
And my years with sighing;
My (E)strength has failed because of my guilt,
And (F)my [a]body has wasted away.
11 Because of all my adversaries, I have become a (G)disgrace,
Especially to my (H)neighbors,
And an object of dread to my acquaintances;
Those who see me in the street flee from me.
12 I am (I)forgotten like a dead person, out of mind;
I am like a broken vessel.
13 For I have heard the [b](J)slander of many,
(K)Terror is on every side;
While they (L)took counsel together against me,
They (M)schemed to take away my life.

14 But as for me, I trust in You, Lord,
I say, “(N)You are my God.”
15 My (O)times are in Your hand;
(P)Rescue me from the hand of my enemies and from those who persecute me.
16 Make Your (Q)face shine upon Your servant;
(R)Save me in Your faithfulness.

Lamentations 3:55-66

55 I (A)called on Your name, Lord,
Out of the lowest pit.
56 You have (B)heard my voice,
(C)Do not cover Your ear from my plea for relief,
From my cry for help.”
57 You (D)came near on the day I called to You;
You said, “(E)Do not fear!”
58 Lord, You (F)have pleaded my soul’s cause;
You have (G)redeemed my life.
59 Lord, You have (H)seen my oppression;
(I)Judge my case.
60 You have seen all their vengeance,
All their (J)schemes against me.
61 You have heard their (K)reproach, Lord,
All their schemes against me.
62 The (L)lips of my assailants and their talk
Are against me all day long.
63 Look at their [a](M)sitting and their rising;
(N)I am their mocking song.
64 You will (O)repay them, Lord,
In accordance with the work of their hands.
65 You will give them [b](P)shamelessness of heart,
Your curse will be on them.
66 You will (Q)pursue them in anger and eliminate them
From under the (R)heavens of the Lord!

Mark 10:32-34

Jesus’ Sufferings Foretold

32 (A)Now they were on the road going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was walking on ahead of them; and they (B)were amazed, and those who followed were fearful. And again He took the twelve aside and began to tell them what was going to happen to Him, 33 saying, “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and (C)the Son of Man will be [a]handed over to the chief priests and the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death and will [b]hand Him over to the Gentiles. 34 And they will mock Him and (D)spit on Him, and flog Him and kill Him; and three days later He will rise from the dead.”
