Psalm 146

The Lord, an Abundant Helper.

146 [a]Praise [b]the Lord!
(A)Praise the Lord, my soul!
I will praise the Lord (B)while I live;
I will (C)sing praises to my God while I [c]have my being.
(D)Do not trust in noblemen,
In [d]mortal (E)man, in whom there is (F)no salvation.
His (G)spirit departs, he (H)returns to [e]the earth;
On that very day his (I)plans perish.
(J)Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob,
Whose (K)hope is in the Lord his God,
Who (L)made heaven and earth,
The (M)sea and everything that is in them;
Who (N)keeps [f]faith forever;
Who (O)executes justice for the oppressed;
Who (P)gives food to the hungry.
The Lord (Q)frees the prisoners.

The Lord (R)opens the eyes of those who are blind;
The Lord (S)raises up those who are bowed down;
The Lord (T)loves the righteous.
The Lord (U)watches over strangers;
He [g](V)supports the fatherless and the widow,
But He [h]thwarts (W)the way of the wicked.
10 The Lord will (X)reign forever,
Your God, Zion, to all generations.
[i]Praise [j]the Lord!

Isaiah 60:17-22

17 Instead of bronze I will bring gold,
And instead of iron I will bring silver,
And instead of wood, bronze,
And instead of stones, iron.
And I will make peace your administrators,
And righteousness your overseers.
18 (A)Violence will not be heard again in your land,
Nor (B)devastation or destruction within your borders;
But you will call your (C)walls salvation, and your (D)gates praise.
19 No longer will you have the (E)sun for light by day,
Nor will the moon give you light for brightness;
But you will have the (F)Lord as an everlasting light,
And your (G)God as your [a]glory.
20 Your (H)sun will no longer set,
Nor will your moon wane;
For you will have the Lord as an everlasting light,
And the days of your (I)mourning will be over.
21 Then all your (J)people will be righteous;
They will (K)possess the land forever,
The branch of [b]My planting,
The (L)work of My hands,
That I may be (M)glorified.
22 The (N)smallest one will become a thousand,
And the least one a mighty nation.
I, the Lord, will bring it about quickly in its time.”

Matthew 9:27-34

27 As Jesus went on from there, two men who were blind followed Him, crying out, “Have mercy on us, (A)Son of David!” 28 And after He entered the house, the men who were blind came up to Him, and Jesus *said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They *said to Him, “Yes, Lord.” 29 Then He touched their eyes, saying, [a]It shall be done for you (B)according to your faith.” 30 And their eyes were opened. And Jesus (C)sternly warned them, saying, “See that no one knows about this!” 31 But they went out and (D)spread the news about Him throughout that land.

32 And as they were going out, behold, (E)a (F)demon-possessed man who was unable to speak [b]was brought to Him. 33 And after the demon was cast out, the man who was previously unable to speak talked; and the crowds were amazed, and were saying, “(G)Nothing like this has ever [c]been seen in Israel.” 34 But the Pharisees were saying, “He (H)casts out the demons by the ruler of the demons.”
