Psalm 72:1-7

Give the King Your Justice

Of (A)Solomon.

72 Give the king your (B)justice, O God,
and your righteousness to the royal son!
May he (C)judge your people with righteousness,
    and your poor with justice!
Let the mountains bear (D)prosperity for the people,
    and the hills, in righteousness!
May he defend the cause of the poor of the people,
give deliverance to the children of the needy,
    and crush the oppressor!
May they fear you[a] while (E)the sun endures,
and as long as the moon, (F)throughout all generations!
May he be like (G)rain that falls on (H)the mown grass,
like (I)showers that water the earth!
In his days may (J)the righteous flourish,
and (K)peace abound, till the moon be no more!

Psalm 72:18-19

18 (A)Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel,
    who alone does (B)wondrous things.
19 Blessed be his (C)glorious name for ever;
may (D)the whole earth be filled with his glory!
(E)Amen and Amen!

Isaiah 4:2-6

The Branch of the Lord Glorified

In that day (A)the branch of the Lord shall be beautiful and glorious, and (B)the fruit of the land shall be the pride and honour of the survivors of Israel. (C)And he who is left in Zion and remains in Jerusalem will be called (D)holy, everyone who has (E)been recorded for life in Jerusalem, when (F)the Lord shall have washed away the filth of (G)the daughters of Zion and cleansed the bloodstains of Jerusalem from its midst by a spirit of judgement and by (H)a spirit of burning.[a] Then the Lord will create over the whole site of Mount Zion and over her assemblies (I)a cloud by day, and smoke and the shining of a flaming fire by night; for over all the glory there will be (J)a canopy. (K)There will be a (L)booth for shade by day from the heat, and (M)for a refuge and a shelter from the storm and rain.

Acts 1:12-17

Matthias Chosen to Replace Judas

12 Then (A)they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day's journey away. 13 And when they had entered, they went up to (B)the upper room, where they were staying, (C)Peter and John and James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus and Simon (D)the Zealot and Judas the son of James. 14 All these (E)with one accord (F)were devoting themselves to prayer, together with (G)the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and (H)his brothers.[a]

15 In those days Peter stood up among (I)the brothers (the company of persons was in all about 120) and said, 16 “Brothers, (J)the Scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke beforehand by the mouth of David concerning Judas, (K)who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus. 17 For (L)he was numbered among us and was allotted his share in (M)this ministry.”

Acts 1:21-26

21 So one of the men who have accompanied us during (A)all the time that the Lord Jesus (B)went in and out among us, 22 (C)beginning from the baptism of John until the day when (D)he was taken up from us—one of these men must become with us (E)a witness to his resurrection.” 23 And they put forward two, Joseph called (F)Barsabbas, who was also called (G)Justus, and (H)Matthias. 24 And (I)they prayed and said, “You, Lord, (J)who know the hearts of all, show which one of these two you have chosen 25 to take the place in (K)this ministry and (L)apostleship from which Judas turned aside to go to his own place.” 26 And they cast lots for them, and the lot fell on Matthias, and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
