Revised Common Lectionary (Complementary)
Teach Me Your Paths
[a] Of David.
25 To you, O Lord, I (A)lift up my soul.
2 O my God, in you I (B)trust;
(C)let me not be put to shame;
(D)let not my enemies exult over me.
3 Indeed, (E)none who wait for you shall be put to shame;
they shall be ashamed who are (F)wantonly (G)treacherous.
4 (H)Make me to know your ways, O Lord;
teach me your paths.
5 Lead me in your (I)truth and teach me,
for you are the God of my salvation;
for you I wait all the day long.
The Lord Is Holy
19 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 2 “Speak to all the congregation of the people of Israel and say to them, (A)You shall be holy, for I the Lord your God am holy. 3 (B)Every one of you shall revere his mother and his father, and (C)you shall keep my Sabbaths: I am the Lord your God. 4 (D)Do not turn to idols (E)or make for yourselves any gods of cast metal: I am the Lord your God.
32 (A)“You shall stand up before the gray head and honor the face of an old man, and you shall (B)fear your God: I am the Lord.
33 (C)“When a stranger sojourns with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong. 34 (D)You shall treat the stranger who sojourns with you as the native among you, and (E)you shall love him as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.
35 (F)“You shall do no wrong in judgment, in measures of length or weight or quantity. 36 (G)You shall have just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin:[a] I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt. 37 And (H)you shall observe all my statutes and all my rules, and do them: I am the Lord.”
For God So Loved the World
16 “For (A)God so loved (B)the world,[a] (C)that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not (D)perish but have eternal life. 17 For (E)God did not send his Son into the world (F)to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. 18 (G)Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not (H)believed in the name of the only Son of God. 19 (I)And this is the judgment: (J)the light has come into the world, and (K)people loved the darkness rather than the light because (L)their works were evil. 20 (M)For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, (N)lest his works should be exposed. 21 But whoever (O)does what is true (P)comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.”
