Acts 16:9-15

And a vision appeared to Paul in the night: a man of Macedonia was standing there, urging him and saying, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” 10 And when Paul[a] had seen the vision, immediately (A)we sought to go on into Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them.

The Conversion of Lydia

11 So, setting sail from Troas, we (B)made a direct voyage to Samothrace, and the following day to Neapolis, 12 and from there to (C)Philippi, which is a leading city of the[b] district of Macedonia and (D)a Roman colony. We remained in this city some days. 13 And (E)on the Sabbath day we went outside the gate (F)to the riverside, where we supposed there was a place of prayer, and we (G)sat down and spoke to the women who had come together. 14 One who heard us was a woman named Lydia, from the city of Thyatira, a seller of purple goods, (H)who was a worshipper of God. The Lord (I)opened her heart to pay attention to what was said by Paul. 15 And after she was baptized, (J)and her household as well, she urged us, saying, “If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come to my house and stay.” And she (K)prevailed upon us.

Psalm 67

Make Your Face Shine upon Us

To the choirmaster: with (A)stringed instruments. A Psalm. A Song.

67 May God (B)be gracious to us and bless us
    and make his face to (C)shine upon us, Selah
that (D)your way may be known on earth,
    your (E)saving power among all nations.
(F)Let the peoples praise you, O God;
    let all the peoples praise you!
Let the nations be glad and sing for joy,
    for you (G)judge the peoples with equity
    and guide the nations upon earth. Selah
(H)Let the peoples praise you, O God;
    let all the peoples praise you!
The earth has (I)yielded its increase;
    God, our God, shall bless us.
God shall bless us;
    let (J)all the ends of the earth fear him!

Revelation 21:10

10 And (A)he carried me away in the Spirit to (B)a great, high mountain, and showed me the holy city Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God,

Revelation 21:22-22:5

22 And (A)I saw no temple in the city, for its temple is the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb. 23 And the city (B)has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for (C)the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb. 24 By its light (D)will the nations walk, and the kings of the earth (E)will bring their glory into it, 25 and (F)its gates will never be shut by day—and (G)there will be no night there. 26 They will bring into it the glory and the honour of the nations. 27 But (H)nothing unclean will ever enter it, nor anyone who does what is detestable or false, but only those who are written in the Lamb's (I)book of life.

The River of Life

22 Then the angel[a] showed me (J)the river of (K)the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb through the middle of (L)the street of the city; (M)also, on either side of the river, (N)the tree of life[b] with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month. The leaves of the tree were (O)for the healing of the nations. (P)No longer will there be anything accursed, but (Q)the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and (R)his servants[c] will worship him. (S)They will see his face, and (T)his name will be on their foreheads. And (U)night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp (V)or sun, for (W)the Lord God will be their light, and (X)they will reign for ever and ever.

John 14:23-29

23 Jesus answered him, (A)“If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and (B)we will come to him and (C)make our home with him. 24 Whoever does not love me does not keep my words. And (D)the word that you hear is not mine but the Father's who sent me.

25 “These things I have spoken to you while I am still with you. 26 But the (E)Helper, the Holy Spirit, (F)whom the Father will send in my name, (G)he will teach you all things and (H)bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. 27 (I)Peace I leave with you; (J)my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. (K)Let not your hearts be troubled, neither (L)let them be afraid. 28 (M)You heard me say to you, (N)‘I am going away, and I will come to you.’ If you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I (O)am going to the Father, for (P)the Father is greater than I. 29 And (Q)now I have told you before it takes place, so that when it does take place you may believe.

John 5:1-9

The Healing at the Pool on the Sabbath

After this there was a (A)feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

Now there is in Jerusalem by (B)the Sheep Gate a pool, in Aramaic[a] called Bethesda,[b] which has five roofed colonnades. In these lay a multitude of invalids—blind, lame, and (C)paralysed.[c] One man was there who had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there and knew that he had already been there a long time, he said to him, “Do you want to be healed?” The sick man answered him, “Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, and while I am going another steps down before me.” Jesus said to him, (D)“Get up, take up your bed, and walk.” (E)And at once the man was healed, and he took up his bed and walked.

(F)Now that day was the Sabbath.
