A Song of degrees. Of David.

122 I rejoiced when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of Jehovah.

² Our feet shall stand within thy gates, O Jerusalem.

³ Jerusalem, which art built as a city that is compact together,

⁴ Whither the tribes go up, the tribes of Jah, a testimony to Israel, to give thanks unto the name of Jehovah.

⁵ For there are set thrones for judgment, the thrones of the house of David.

⁶ Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.

⁷ Peace be within thy bulwarks, prosperity within thy palaces.

⁸ For my brethren and companions' sakes I will say, Peace be within thee!

⁹ Because of the house of Jehovah our God I will seek thy good.

7 And the king and Haman came to drink with Esther the queen.

² And the king said again to Esther on the second day, at the banquet of wine, What is thy petition, queen Esther? and it shall be granted thee; and what is thy request? even to the half of the kingdom it shall be done.

³ And Esther the queen answered and said, If I have found grace in thy sight, O king, and if it please the king, let my life be given me at my petition, and my people at my request;

⁴ for we are sold, I and my people, to be destroyed, to be slain, and to perish. But if we had been sold for bondmen and bondwomen, I had held my tongue, although the adversary could not compensate the king's damage.

⁵ And king Ahasuerus spoke and said to Esther the queen, Who is he, and where is he that has filled his heart to do so?

⁶ And Esther said, The adversary and enemy is this wicked Haman. Then Haman was terrified before the king and the queen.

⁷ And the king in his wrath rose up from the banquet of wine, [and went] into the palace garden; but Haman stayed to make request for his life to Esther the queen, for he saw that there was evil determined against him by the king.

⁸ And the king returned out of the palace garden into the house of the banquet of wine, and Haman was fallen upon the couch on which Esther was. And the king said, Will he even force the queen before me in the house? The word went forth out of the king's mouth, and they covered Haman's face.

⁹ And Harbonah, one of the chamberlains, said before the king, Behold, also, the gallows fifty cubits high, that Haman made for Mordecai, who spoke good for the king, stands in the house of Haman. And the king said, Hang him on it!

¹⁰ So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. And the king's wrath was appeased.

⁹ I John, your brother and fellow-partaker in the tribulation and kingdom and patience, in Jesus, was in the island called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus.

¹⁰ I became in [the] Spirit on the Lord's day, and I heard behind me a great voice as of a trumpet,

¹¹ saying, What thou seest write in a book, and send to the seven assemblies: to Ephesus, and to Smyrna, and to Pergamos, and to Thyatira, and to Sardis, and to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.

¹² And I turned back to see the voice which spoke with me; and having turned, I saw seven golden lamps,

¹³ and in the midst of the [seven] lamps [one] like [the] Son of man, clothed with a garment reaching to the feet, and girt about at the breasts with a golden girdle:

¹⁴ his head and hair white like white wool, as snow; and his eyes as a flame of fire;

¹⁵ and his feet like fine brass, as burning in a furnace; and his voice as the voice of many waters;

¹⁶ and having in his right hand seven stars; and out of his mouth a sharp two-edged sword going forth; and his countenance as the sun shines in its power.

¹⁷ And when I saw him I fell at his feet as dead; and he laid his right hand upon me, saying, Fear not; *I* am the first and the last,

¹⁸ and the living one: and I became dead, and behold, I am living to the ages of ages, and have the keys of death and of hades.

¹⁹ Write therefore what thou hast seen, and the things that are, and the things that are about to be after these.

²⁰ The mystery of the seven stars which thou hast seen on my right hand, and the seven golden lamps.—The seven stars are angels of the seven assemblies; and the seven lamps are seven assemblies.
