Psalm 91:1-2

Security of One Who Trusts in the Lord.

91 One who dwells in the (A)shelter of the Most High
Will lodge in the (B)shadow of the Almighty.
I will say to the Lord, “My (C)refuge and my (D)fortress,
My God, in whom I (E)trust!”

Psalm 91:9-16

[a]For you have made the Lord, (A)my refuge,
The Most High, (B)your dwelling place.
10 (C)No evil will happen to you,
Nor will any plague come near your [b]tent.

11 For He will give (D)His angels orders concerning you,
To protect you in all your ways.
12 On their hands they will (E)lift you up,
So that you do not strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will (F)walk upon the lion and cobra,
You will trample the young lion and the [c]serpent.

14 (G)Because he has loved Me, I will save him;
I will (H)set him securely on high, because he has (I)known My name.
15 He will (J)call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in [d]trouble;
I will rescue him and (K)honor him.
16 I will satisfy him with [e]a (L)long life,
And [f](M)show him My salvation.”

Exodus 6:1-13

God Promises Action

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh; for [a](A)under compulsion he will let them go, and [b]under compulsion he will drive them out of his land.”

God spoke further to Moses and said to him, “I am (B)the Lord; and I appeared to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob as [c](C)God Almighty, but by (D)My name, [d]Lord, I did not make Myself known to them. I also established (E)My covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the [e]land in which they lived as strangers. Furthermore I have (F)heard the groaning of the sons of Israel, because the Egyptians are holding them in bondage, and I have remembered My covenant. Say, therefore, to the sons of Israel, ‘(G)I am the Lord, and (H)I will bring you out from under the labors of the Egyptians, and I will rescue you from their bondage. I will also (I)redeem you with (J)an outstretched arm, and with great judgments. Then I will take you [f](K)as My people, and (L)I will be [g]your God; and (M)you shall know that I am the Lord your God, who brought you out from under the labors of the Egyptians. I will bring you to the land which (N)I [h]swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and (O)I will give it to you as a possession; (P)I am the Lord.’” So Moses said this to the sons of Israel, but they did not listen to Moses on (Q)account of their [i]despondency and cruel bondage.

10 Now the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 11 (R)Go, [j]tell Pharaoh king of Egypt [k]to let the sons of Israel go out of his land.” 12 But Moses spoke before the Lord, saying, “Behold, the sons of Israel have not listened to me; (S)how then will Pharaoh listen to me, as I am [l](T)unskilled in speech?” 13 Nevertheless, the Lord spoke to Moses and to Aaron and gave them a command concerning the sons of Israel and Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring the sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt.

Acts 7:35-42

35 “This Moses whom they (A)disowned, saying, ‘Who made you a ruler and a judge?’ is the one whom God [a]sent to be both a ruler and a deliverer with the [b]help of the angel who appeared to him in the thorn bush. 36 (B)This man led them out, performing (C)wonders and [c]signs in the land of Egypt and in the Red Sea, and in the (D)wilderness for forty years. 37 This is the Moses who said to the sons of Israel, ‘(E)God will raise up for you a prophet [d]like me from your countrymen.’ 38 This is the one who was in (F)the [e]assembly in the wilderness together with (G)the angel who spoke to him at length on Mount Sinai, and who was with our fathers; and he received (H)living (I)words to pass on to you. 39 Our fathers were unwilling to be obedient to him; on the contrary they (J)rejected him and turned back to Egypt in their hearts, 40 (K)saying to Aaron, ‘Make us [f]a god who will go before us; for this Moses who led us out of the land of Egyptwe do not know what happened to him.’ 41 [g]At that time (L)they made a [h]calf and brought a sacrifice to the idol, and were rejoicing in (M)the works of their hands. 42 But God (N)turned away and gave them over to [i]serve the heavenly [j]lights; as it is written in the book of the prophets: ‘(O)You did not offer Me victims and sacrifices (P)for forty years in the wilderness, did you, house of Israel?
