Psalm 99

Praise to the Lord for His Faithfulness to Israel.

99 (A)The Lord reigns, [a]the peoples tremble!
He (B)sits enthroned above the cherubim, [b]the earth quakes!
The Lord [c]is (C)great in Zion,
And He is (D)exalted above all the peoples.
May they praise Your (E)great and awesome name;
(F)Holy is [d]He.
The [e]strength of the King (G)loves [f]justice;
You have established [g](H)order;
You have (I)executed [h]justice and righteousness in Jacob.
[i](J)Exalt the Lord our God
And (K)worship at His footstool;
(L)Holy is He.

(M)Moses and Aaron were among His (N)priests,
And (O)Samuel was among those who (P)called on His name;
They (Q)called upon the Lord and He answered them.
He (R)spoke to them in the pillar of cloud;
They (S)kept His testimonies
And the statute that He gave them.
Lord our God, You (T)answered them;
You were a (U)forgiving God to them,
And yet an (V)avenger of their evil deeds.
Exalt the Lord our God
And worship at His holy hill,
For the Lord our God is holy.

Deuteronomy 9:6-14

“Know, then, that it is not because of your righteousness that the Lord your God is giving you this good land to possess, for you are (A)a [a]stubborn people. Remember, do not forget how you provoked the Lord your God to anger in the wilderness; (B)from the day that you left the land of Egypt until you arrived at this place, you have been rebellious against the Lord. Even (C)at Horeb you provoked the Lord to anger, and the Lord was so angry with you that He would have destroyed you. When I went up to the mountain to receive the tablets of stone, the tablets of the covenant which the Lord made with you, then I remained on the mountain for forty days and nights; (D)I neither ate bread nor drank water. 10 The Lord gave me the two tablets of stone (E)written by the finger of God; and on them were all the words which the Lord had spoken with you at the mountain from the midst of the fire on the day of the assembly. 11 It came about (F)at the end of forty days and nights that the Lord gave me the two tablets of stone, the tablets of the covenant. 12 (G)Then the Lord said to me, ‘Arise, go down from here quickly, because your people, whom you brought out of Egypt, have behaved corruptly. They have (H)quickly turned aside from the way that I commanded them; they have made a cast metal image for themselves.’ 13 The (I)Lord also said to [b]me, ‘I have seen this people, and indeed, it is a [c](J)stubborn people. 14 (K)Leave Me alone, that I may destroy them and (L)wipe out their name from under heaven; and I will make of you a nation mightier and greater than they.’

Acts 10:1-8

Cornelius’ Vision

10 Now there was a man in (A)Caesarea named Cornelius, a centurion of what was (B)called the Italian [a]cohort, a devout man and (C)one who feared God with all his household, and (D)made many charitable contributions to the Jewish people and prayed to God continually. About (E)the [b]ninth hour of the day he clearly saw (F)in a vision (G)an angel of God who had just come in and said to him, “Cornelius!” And he (H)looked at him intently and became terrified, and said, “What is it, lord?” And he said to him, “Your prayers and charitable gifts (I)have ascended (J)as a memorial offering before God. Now dispatch some men to (K)Joppa and send for a man named Simon, who is also called Peter; he is staying with a tanner named (L)Simon, whose house is by the sea.” When the angel who *spoke to him left, he summoned two of his [c]servants and a devout soldier from his personal attendants, and after he had explained everything to them, he sent them to (M)Joppa.
